Chapter 62 - Itsuki vs Erika [ III ]
"Thank you Eevee. You have done more than enough." Itsuki recalled Eevee and then took out another Pokeball from his belt.
After double tapping the Pokeball, the size of the Pokeball increased to fist size.
"I chose you Riolu." Itsuki could be chosen his other Pokémon but he didn't because Itsuki wanted to debut Riolu in this match.

Ever since leaving Rota, Riolu never got the chance to fight in a Pokémon battle. Itsuki felt that Riolu should able to fight against Tangela since Riolu had awakened Aura and his physical stats was way above his level. Itsuki didn't wanted ignore his Pokémon. 'Even if Riolu loses it doesn't matter since I can use my Zera to finish everything.'

Riolu curiously looked at the Pokémon in front of him. Riolu had lived most of his life in Rota town which was protected by his grandfather Lucario. Lucario never allowed any wild Pokémon to inhabit the Cameron Palace. So Riolu lived his life not seeing that many Pokémon before. And the only time Riolu fought was against his own grandfather and he always ended up losing.

"Riolu this is our first battle buddy so relax there is no need to be worried. Just do what you are good at. And have trust in me." Riolu turned to Itsuki and then nodded his head with a serious look.
Even though it's been only 4 days since Riolu left Cameron Palace, Riolu had grown attached to Itsuki and his Pokémon. Riolu felt extremely comfortable around Itsuki because Itsuki's vast Aura.
Riolu! "Master I won't let you down."

"A Riolu huh... If I remember correctly Riolu's evolution form is Lucario. Lucario is a very strong Pokémon. I wonder how Itsuki got Riolu." Zitong knew how rare it was to find a Lucario in Kanto region. Lucario or Riolu was sold for very high prices. Some rich People would go crazy to get their children Lucario or Riolu.

"A Riolu huh!" Erika looked at Itsuki and then said. "Itsuki using Riolu could lead you to your defeat because I am not going to hold back." Hearing Erika's words Riolu felt insulted and a burning determination to defeat Erika's Pokémon ignited in his heart.
Itsuki understood that Erika was just warning Itsuki to choose another Pokémon because with Riolu's level it would be impossible to beat Tangela.

"Miss Erika thank you for your words but I believe in my Pokémon and I know that my Pokémon will their best. That's all I hope from them." Itsuki gave Riolu a nod. Riolu was very happy Itsuki words.
Erika's words would have been correct if Itsuki's Riolu was a normal Pokémon.
Sigh! Erika sighed and didn't say anything since she knew that her words might have opposite affect of what she wants.

"He should use another Pokémon. There is no way Riolu could defeat Tangela. The level difference is too big." Zitong estimates that Riolu's level would be less than 30 while Tangela is above level 31.
Sigh!
Zitong sighed. She didn't wanted Itsuki to lose in this way.

"Use energy ball." Erika said. A green color energy began form in the shape of a ball.
"Riolu use Aura sphere."
Riolu! A blue sphere began to form in Riolu's palm. Then two energy balls of different colors hit each other. Zitong and Erika thought Tangela's energy ball would be stronger but to their shock the Aura sphere and Energy ball had almost same power and exploded together.

Boom!
Even Itsuki was little surprised. Since he didn't expect Riolu's aura sphere to almost match Tangela's, a level 32 Pokémon power.
Riolu! "Master I used my Aura to increase the power of my attack but currently I can't go beyond that." Erika and Zitong didn't understand what Riolu said but Itsuki did and was even more shocked.

'Zera has even more Aura than Riolu but Riolu from an young age has learned to use his aura to boost his attack Strength. Riolu's aura control is nearly perfect something Zera is very far from. I trained my control in Aura and I know how hard it is to control Aura. Even I can't control Aura like Riolu does. If Zera can learn to control her Aura more effectively than her power would drastically increase.'

'Zera can only keep up with higher level Pokémon because she had awakened Aura at a higher stage which gave her natural boost in stats. This also made Zera' s attacks stronger above her level. In battle Zera only uses her Aura when using lightning release which is also her nature. So controlling something which is not your nature is more harder. The same principle applies when Zera uses other type attacks which is not lightning, she is not able to put Aura in the attacks.'

'That's where the control of Aura matters. If Zera can control her Aura to the point she can put all the Aura she has in one attack and that attack is not her nature, then this attack would be devastating.
Other than that using Aura to enhance body movement is easier but needs training. Zera didn't train like I did.' Itsuki trains every night for 8 to 10 hours.

Erika recovered from the shock felt she seeing the unique Riolu. Unique, that the word Erika could up with to describe Riolu.
"Tangela Acid spray!"
Tangela opened its mouth and glop of purple acid fired at Riolu.

"Riolu use Aura sphere to block the acid spray."
Riolu!
Riolu again made another Aura sphere and threw it at the Acid spray.
Boom!

"Riolu go for force palm." Riolu runs to Tangela. Riolu's speed was faster than a normal Riolu, since Riolu was using Aura to increase his speed.
"Tangela, use double hit to counter Riolu's attack." Tangela also charged at Riolu and then both of their palms hit each other and both of them was pushed back.

"Tangela use sleeping powder." Erika was waiting for Riolu to get closer so that she could use sleeping powder on Riolu. Tangela released a blue, shining powder towards Riolu. Itsuki knew that they cannot avoid this sleeping powder so Riolu had to face the sleep powder.
"Riolu use your force palm on the ground."
Erika and Zitong "___" Both girls couldn't understand why Itsuki told Riolu to do hit the ground.

Riolu didn't doubt Itsuki and did as Itsuki told him to do. Riolu gathered Aura to increase the power of his attack and then slammed his fist on the ground in front of him.
Boom!
It was like a mini explosion, lots of dust particles and air pushed the sleeping powder. When the dust cleared, the sleeping powder was no longer present.

Both Zitong and Erika was impressed by both Riolu and Itsuki. "This Riolu is not some average Riolu. Riolu attack was so strong. I wonder how Itsuki found this diamond or from where he bought the Riolu. No one would sell such unique and abnormal Riolu so that means Itsuki has captured Riolu from the wild or has acquired Riolu in some other way." Zitong was getting more and more curious about Itsuki. She was learning new things about Itsuki as time passed.

"Riolu use crunch." Riolu opens his mouth and creates a white aura shaped like a set of teeth.
"Tangela use energy ball to stop Riolu." Tangela again created a green energy ball and threw it at Riolu who was charging towards Tangela.
"Riolu use Aura sphere." Riolu kept his crunch activated and created a Aura sphere on his paws.

Boom!
Riolu using the white Aura teeth he made in front of him, bite down the green energy ball which exploded in white smoke. Riolu then threw the Aura sphere at Tangela.
From within the white smoke, a blue bar suddenly fired at Tangela which made Erika little panic. But she quickly calmed herself.
"Tangela use Acid spray to stop the Acid spray."

Seeing how easily Tangela stopped Riolu, Itsuki gritted his teeth. 'This can't keep going like this. No matter what move I use, Tangela moves could counter it completely. The same could said for Erika, Riolu could counter against its moves. If things keeps going like this then I am afraid, Riolu will exhaust his Aura and faint. I have to take a gamble.'

Riolu throw a Aura sphere at Tangela and keep charging towards Tangela.
Erika couldn't understand what Itsuki wanted to do. "Use energy ball to counter."
Boom! Both energy ball and Aura sphere collided and exploded. Riolu kept charging at Tangela.
"Riolu imagine a sword forming in your palm." Riolu looked at Itsuki with a look that lacked confidence.

"Trust your instinct and do it. I believe in you. You should believe in yourself Riolu." Erika and Zitong both was confused by what Itsuki was saying to Riolu. There is no way Riolu could make a sword at its first try. Pokémon needs lots of practice to learn a move so Erika didn't believe that Riolu could do what Itsuki wanted.
" Use poison spray to finish Riolu." Erika believed that Riolu won't succeed so she wanted her Pokémon to attack using his chance.
