"After analysing what you have read so far, what should we do now?" Lorenzo asked.
He had made a trip out of the country to ask his mentor about a very special case he was handling. The case was hard and very complicated. He couldn't decide yet on what to do.
His sister Daisy was also counting on him to do his best and also avoid hurting her friend.
"Lorenzo, the very first step to solving all this is involving the law first, this isn't just a medical issue anymore," the older man spoke.
A number of wrong procedures were being used to treat Lynn's amnesia. The medicines prescribed by the doctors was too strong for her body thus presenting side effects like tiredness, migraines and misinterpretations. Her brain was getting more damaged by the process rather than healed.
There was also a possibility of never regaining her lost memories.
She was also consuming drugs that weakened the ability to conceive. Over the years as she consumed them, her uterus was being damaged.
According to Lynn's situation so far, she wasn't doing all that and someone else was pulling the strings.
Her doctors were all capable and experienced so it couldn't be a mistake on their part too. They were being paid to intentionally harm her.
"Lorenzo, why are you afraid of going on,is there something you haven't told me," Dr. Novrik asked. He had known the man long enough to tell what he was thinking just by looking.
Lorenzo sighed deeply before revealing the rest of the information.
When Lee arrived, she found Mai walking outside Lynn's room agitatedly.
Lee fastened her steps as she hoped that nothing wrong had happened again.
She was surprised to find men dressed I black suits standing outside the room. The two men stood outside preventing anybody from entering.
"Could it be her father found out?" she thought.
"They suddenly appeared but refused to talk to me," Mai said. She had gone to the pharmacy to get the medicines the nurse needed when she found the two guards outside.
Daisy also wondered what was happening and why she wasn't notified by the hospital staff about the changes.
"Sirs, who sent you both?" Daisy asked.
The men didn't speak but gave Daisy a brown envelope.
She sat aside and opened it to check what was inside. After opening, she read what was written inside with Lee who was confused.
As they read, the door opened and a middle aged woman came out. When she saw Daisy, her facial expression darkened.
"Aunt Margaret, I can explain," Daisy said immediately.
"Don't even say anything, I didn't expect this from you," the lady spoke. She sounded sad about something.
Lee clutched the white paper in her hands so hard that it nearly tore.
From what she had read, the people who sent the bodyguards were Lynn's true family. Her biological family.
They had the right to decide for Lynn now since Ze Li, her next of kin had proven to be "dangerous".
As of now, Lynn was going to be taken abroad for better treatment.
"Lynn isn't going anywhere," Lee spoke loudly as she made her way to the door and forcefully opened it.
The bodyguards didn't stop her for some reason but she didn't even think about it at that time. She wanted to stay with her stepmother. Lynn couldn't leave her like the others did.
As she rushed to Lynn's bed, she saw a man seated next to her holding her hand. Another man was standing aside and they had both looked at her at the same time. It seemed like they were discussing something but stopped after seeing her.
" Lynn isn't going anywhere," she said staring at both of them.
I was somewhere, I don't really know where and why. My eyes were too heavy for me to open and my head was hurting alot. As for my other body parts, I couldn't feel or move any of them for some reason.
Throughout this time, I could at least hear. I heard whenever a voice, more specifically Lee's voice told me to wake up. She kept on telling me that she was waiting for me to get well.
I also recognized Mai's voice as she apologized, I didn't know why but she always apologized. I think it's because she was hoping she was there to help me.
There was also a female voice I didn't recognize. She had introduced herself as Daisy, Lee's friend.
I was happy to know that Lee had friends she was willing to introduce to me, I couldn't help but pray to wake up soon.
But throughout all this time, I didn't hear Ze Li's voice. He was always caring and protective but he hadn't visited me yet.
Was he hurt by the person who hurt me? I got scared as I thought of this possibility.
Before I got unconscious, Mai had gone outside the room to get me a doctor. My headaches were getting more painful and my body felt so weak that I couldn't leave bed.
The door opened but I didn't see who it was because I felt to weak to get up and continued lying on the bed. Nobody spoke so I assumed it was Ze Li, he hadn't visited me yet since my condition deteriorated.
To my surprise, somebody dragged me from my feet and pulled me off the bed causing me to hit my head hard against something. My vision instantly became weary and I couldn't see clearly who had done that to me.
The pain in my head was so excruciating and I felt like ripping out my own head. I tried to scream as I saw faintly that the assaulter was coming again but my voice couldn't come out.
"She", I noticed because of the sharp tall finger nails that scratched my hand started hitting me.
She hit my face so hard and when I tried to resist, she pressed on to my wrist tightly. I didn't regret being so powerless till now, I could only silently pray that someone comes to help me out.
Nothing hurts more than not being in control of the situation, most especially something that involves your life.
A warm liquid poured out from the cut on my head. My own blood wet my face as my eyes started closing.
I saw Ze Li standing at the door of our bedroom before blacking out. I could barely see but I knew it was him. Even if I became blind someday, I will always be able to identify my Ze Li.
He must have been worried about me so that is why he didn't come close to help me.
I hope he is safe. I hope that he escaped from the assaulter.
