The trial of mastery.

'Then this is my first enemy encounter.' Carlos eyes the bat. it flies back and twirls to Carlos, but he blocks the bat and it bounces back and drops to the floor. Carlos slashes at the bat and it disappears in darkness. 'That's odd.' Carlos continued through the grass, but another one of those bats noticed Carlos.

'I wonder what's their name.' Carlos slashes at the bat as it drops to the floor. Carlos passes two similar-looking trees and a blue blob with eyes appeared from the ground. Carlos quickly runs up to it and hacks it with the sword, but as soon as he does that, another blue blob appears. 'How many are there?' Carlos leaps to it and slashes it.

Carlos sees a pile of boxes that block the way, but as he got closer a bigger blue blob appeared from the ground. Carlos slashes at it, but it still stands. The blob jumps and lunges at Carlos but he didn't have his shield ready. Carlos stops himself from falling to the ground as he rubs his chest.

'Dang that hurt!' Carlos leaps and slashes at the blob. This made the blob explode, dropping a few of its jelly. 'Huh, it could be slime...' Carlos picks up the jelly and puts it on a pouch. Carlos looks at the crates. 'If I was going to attack the boxes with just my sword, it might break. Maybe if I had a hammer with me...'

Carlos sighs and swings the sword at the boxes. But before he swings, the blade turns into a hammer. The boxes break after one swing of the sword. 'What was that? I wasn't seeing things right.' Carlos looks at the sword and it's back to normal. 'That was weird.' Carlos walked past the remaining boxes.

But then two skeletons of a weird creature emerge from the ground, one of them are in a rock atop of thick mud. 'What the heck?' Carlos puts up his shield as the skeleton that isn't atop the rock starts rushing at him. The skeleton punches at the shield, but it bounces back. Carlos is about to slash the skeleton until the skeleton that's atop the rock fires an arrow at the shield.

'I can't do a normal counter-attack or else I would get struck by the arrows of that skeleton.' The skeleton reels back as it makes a fist. 'Guess I'll have to...' As soon as the skeleton lunges at Carlos, he jumps to the side. '...Huh?'

The skeleton seemed to have slowed down. Carlos looked at the other skeleton and it also seemed to slow down. 'Well, I'll use this to my advantage.' Carlos lands on his left foot and rushes at the skeleton. He begins to slash away but the skeleton crumbles after one swing. Carlos drives the sword on the skull as he notices the bones rebuild themselves.

The other skeleton fires an arrow but Carlos blocks it. Carlos puts away the sword and shield and takes out the bow. Carlos grabs an arrow and fires at the skeleton, hitting it at its head. 'That's a fluke...'

Carlos runs through the grass until bats that are on fire fly around the grass, causing the grass to burn under them. To make things worse, two more skeletons of a creature appear with bows. 'Nope!' Carlos runs past them. He hears arrows fire and ice breaking. Carlos reaches an area filled with thick mud.

Then a big yellow blob appears from the ground. Carlos brushes off of it and feels electricity run through him. Then Carlos looks back and the bats are flying towards him with the skeletons aiming at him. 'How is this a trial?! I don't have anything that could be useful!'

Carlos frantically looks around, 'Maybe since the blade can form into something...' Carlos swings the sword at a branch and the blade extends and grapples on the branch. Carlos takes a step back, but the fire bat dashes at him. Carlos bashes the bat with the shield and runs towards the tree.

Carlos puts his leg on the tree and pushes himself up, but only up a few inches. 'I knew that I wouldn't be able to do that...' Carlos glanced at the many enemies waiting for him to fail, '...I ain't that strong, but I gotta try!' He grabs onto the tree with his left hand, but what replaced the shield was a claw hand that surrounded his hand.

Carlos glances at the hand but continued to climb the tree. Carlos flung himself as an arrow missed him. Carlos rolls up to the top of the tree and glanced down at the ground, 'Well that would've been my end.' Carlos leaps to the other tree, but a rock misses his head making the claws nearly tear through the tree.

Carlos quickly gets on top of the tree and leaps for the other tree, but he slips as he jumps. The blade extends and grapples on a branch, making Carlos swing. 'Those things that shoot rocks might hit me if I move slowly...' Carlos pushes his body forward as the blade extends and grapples on the other tree's branch.

Carlos swings but as he reaches the ground, the branch snaps. Carlos yelps as he falls to the ground. A rock misses him as he bounced as he hits the ground. He rolls around until he stops. "Ow..." Carlos groans as he stands up. Carlos shakes his head and notices something glowing orange within the fog.

But as he looks at the path, there's another pond of thick mud. Thankfully there is a way to make it, as there are patches of grass and logs in the mud. 'Alright, at least this seems doable.' Carlos walks up to the end of the mount and looks at the gap that's filled with mud.

'Maybe I could jump across it?' Carlos takes a step back. Then he leaps to the second patch As he leaps at the third patch, two red blobs appear and light up the grass with fire. Carlos quickly swings at them, but they explode in fire, thankfully he puts up the shield as they explode. Carlos gets pushed back by the blast as he nearly falls in the mud.

Carlos quickly jumps through the logs and makes it to the orange glow. 'Another one of these structures?' Carlos takes a deep breath as he looks at the structure. Carlos gets up at the entrance and swipes the device on the pedestal, 'Another scanning pedestal...'

'I'm thinking about naming this... Maybe tablet? Or Magic slab.' Carlos looks at the doors open and he enters and stands on the platform. Instead of the platform going down, Carlos is covered with blue light.

As he opens his eyes he's back where he shakes the statue's hand. But in the place of the statue, there was a platform. Carlos walked on it, and the platform lowered. 'I wonder if I can get better clothing rather than what I'm wearing...' Carlos looks at his shirt, '...Thank goodness it didn't get any holes in it.'

After a few minutes, the platform stops at a room. The room had a pedestal along with metal crates. alongside that, there was a tall ledge on the right and on the left, there seemed to be stone, but most of it was cracked. Carlos exits and walks towards the pedestal.

The pedestal was different from the scanning pedestals. It had a structure that was built like a reversed triangle on top of the pedestal, and it didn't seemed that it scanned the device. The pedestal itself didn't look finished, making it have this cog-like appearance. Carlos grabs the device and looks back at the pedestal. 'If only there was somethi-'

The device chimes and Carlos looked at the screen, "Place the Sheikah Slate on the pedestal." Carlos shrugged and placed the device on the pedestal. After spinning twice it flipped the device over and it pushed in to complete the pedestal. The device chimes And Carlos reads, "Extracting Rune..."

The reversed triangle glows in blue as the sounds of dripping water can be heard from it. The blue slowly fell right at the tip as a drop of the blue essence dropped on the device. It splashed with the blue essence spattering around the device making Carlos jump back but take a step closer to see the device.

"Remote Bomb Rune extracted!" Carlos looks at the reversed triangle and it stopped glowing blue. Then the device was pushed out and Carlos grabbed the device. 'So this device already has a name... Sheikah...' Carlos looks at the device.

'...Well, I don't know what does that means so.' Carlos grabs a round bomb from the slate and throws it at the stone wall. 'Wait how do I make the bomb explode?' Carlos walks up to the bomb as it glows with blue light. 'Maybe I do this?' Carlos shows the slate at the bomb.

Then in a blue flash, the bomb explodes pushing Carlos at the metal crates. "Jeez, why did that have to hurt me?" Carlos stands up and notices the wall was destroyed by the bomb. Carlos goes to the next room and looks inside of it.

There was a similar machine sitting there, a chest is on top of a platform that's too high to reach, and the door to the next room was blocked with bars. 'Similar to the other robot, I have to defeat this one to unlock the door...' Carlos nods as he unsheaths the sword and runs up at the machine.

Except, instead of shooting, its head raised a bit, a limb of sorts got out from its neck, and what seemed to be a sword popped out and glowed with blue light. 'Oh, this isn't a shooty robot...' Carlos stops and grabs the shield. The robot runs up to Carlos and hacks away with the sword.

'Dang it! This one's more relentless than shooting lasers at me.' Carlos tries to swing at it, but the robot slashes at him. Carlos yelps as he slips and falls to the floor. The robot swung, but Carlos rolled out of the sword's way.

Carlos looked down at where the robot slashed him, but only his shirt was affected, having a burn mark of the sword. 'Huh? Th-That's new...' Carlos rushes at the robot and it readies to swing at him, '...But I already figured out another thing...'

As soon as the robot swung, Carlos jumped to the side to dodge it, causing everything to slow down, '...I call it Bullet time!' Carlos slashes away as soon as his feet touch the ground. After a few slashes, the robot breaks down and explodes.

Carlos looks at the bars as soon as the robot exploded, but it didn't unlock the door. 'Darn, there must be something that I'm missing.' Carlos walks up to the door and spots a button. Carlos steps on the button and the bars unlock.

'A puzzle... I'm guessing that I need something heavy to hold the button.' Carlos looks at the door. Then he snaps his finger as he dashes over to the previous room. He picks up the metal crates and stacks them up to reach the chest, and places the last crate on the button. Carlos climbs up the crates and unlocks the chest, revealing a bundle of arrows in it.

Carlos puts the bundle in the quiver and hurries to the next room. Inside the next room, there was the same statue that was at the last level. 'Once I shake the hand of the statue, I'll be taken out of this place...' Carlos looks around the room, '...But this might be the only place where I'll get answers.'

"Um, voice who talked to me at the beginning of this place..." Carlos cautiously looked around, "...Can you tell me what is this place?" A few seconds of silence is broken by the voice, "This is the sacred shrine of The Other One..." Carlos jolted as he looks around trying to find the voice. "...For if you're The Other One... You must overcome these trials before you gain access to the lower levels of the shrine."

"What do you mean about 'The Other One'?" Carlos frowns. But the voice doesn't speak. Carlos groans as he shakes the hand of the statue. After that, Carlos is surrounded by blue light and disappears.
