Guilds

"Um." Wein didn't know how to respond to Kara so he glanced over Lady Amy for help.

"Forgive him, Lord Kar—"

"It's fine."

With his crimson eyes, Kara assessed Wein very closely.

Wein did not look any special. If not for his dark circles in his eyes, he would in fact look way too ordinary.

Wein was an ordinary boy with brown but almost black eyes. It was not beautiful and it looked tired and dead despite Wein being only 7 years old.

If he was compared to the other boy by the name of Lucian, it would not be wrong to claim that if they grew up, the one who would get the girls would be Lucian. Lucian had that bright yet refined personality. However, Lucian was emanating with off-putting features.

His skin's youthfulness and vitality paled against Lucian.

'However, its true that this boy's potential to be a powerful mage is a lot higher,' Kara thought, 'Lucian on the other hand had some magic aptitude, but its just average. I think he would have more talent with the sword or for martial arts.'

After a short talk where Kara introduce himself as a master of shadow magic and that he would help Wein in the future find his stroke or feel for it, Kara left the house.

"Learning magic is indeed powerful. Especially when you learn shadow magic from Lord Kara himself. I never seen someone in my life use shadow magic that great."

Memories of Kara defeating the angel and the holy knights started to play in the Doctor's mind.

After that, Doctor An then explained to Wein a couple of options.

"Don't be shocked if all of a sudden, you can move shadows or feel the aura of living things, Wein. It's all a part of our identity being a mage."

"Yes, I will, Mage An!" Wein then said, putting a smile on Doctor An's face.

"Then, please be patient with him, Lady Amy. Even with the other kid Lucian. They are one of this town's young pillars to the path of magic after all." Doctor An whispered, taking into note that Wein would not be able to hear him.

Sometimes, when kids hear praise, they start to have big heads. Thus, it was extremely important to not put ideas to kid's minds. It would be best for them was what Doctor An said.

At the very same moment, Kara was arriving at a certain place where the strongest individuals in the town currently reside.

While he was on his way, he was pondering about Wein.

"That boy Wein, is it possible that sometimes Kronel takes control of him?" asked Wein to himself, as he remembered how Wein noticed the difference in the air when his S-familiar was following them.

"Maybe, I guess he's not the host of the Shadow Spirit Kronel for nothing. I should make my S-Familiar take much more distance from now on."

After that, Kara arrived at a very different place.

It was like a small complex.

There was a large square that were like a building and there was an empty lot—a fighting space—in the middle of it.

Kara entered, but there were no sound.

"Are they sleeping?" Kara asked.

There were only a few people occupying this area so there was no expectations of noises.

Just then, as he arrived at the middle of the building, someone with blonde hair and a toned shirtless upper body can be seen training his swordsmanship against a wood puppet.

*Tak* *Tak* *Tak*

The sound of a blunt sword hitting the wooden puppet could be heard louder as he inches closes.

And then finally, Kara saw Gary.

Gary had the same expression in his face as always. Nonchalant that he almost looked disinterested about everything in this world.

But it was no lie that he had passion for swordsmanship and martial arts.

"My Lord."

"There is no need, okay?"

When he noticed Kara finally came to him, Gary bowed with one knee and got up as soon as Kara lifted his land.

"You can speak to me in any way you want. More importantly, are the adventurers around?" Kara asked.

He actually wanted to speak about the adventurers with one thing.

The other day, Corre told him that he was planning to create a Guild in this town and said that Kara be the leader.

Two days ago…

"Lord Kara, your powers are not meant to become a mere protector. Our party "The Limelight" wants you to lead your own guild someday, and we be at your service!" Corre said.

A guild?

Kara never thought he would join a guild. Nor become a Guild Master to begin with.

But that was going to work on their favor too.

Guilds would allow them to act as an independent unit, and it would help protect the town officially and legally.

Of course, they had to do their part as a guild in order to keep their reputation and their responsibility to the Magic Association. However, that was not a problem.

In fact, they could actually do a lot of things in the name of guilds. They could hunt monsters legally and even act against pretty much all evil if they got in their way.

And the most important thing was Guilds were a good way to protect their territory. Even if that was against the kingdom, the dukedom, and the Church.

Guilds were protected institutions by the Magic Association which was an independent entity even against the Ten Factions.

Guilds were helping to protect the world from monsters and evil and that they should not be used to do politics in the front, even if they were used. Thus, building a guild was a very good idea.

"Where?" Kara asked Gary.

Gary put down his blunt sword which was mainly used for training, and put on a shirt to cover his sweating body.

"Please follow me, My Lord. The adventurers are this way." Gary said.

Kara followed him to a way to the opposite end of the fighting area.

When they arrived, Kara was immediately greeted by the party of adventurers.

They were on a large table with a map on it and piled up with different strategies as if they were planning something serious.
