Wolves

Slaton and Tahnee didn’t stay in the empty hallway long. They raced back to the living room where the others had congregated to wait on word of what had happened. Worry was written across each face.

“She’s gone.” Slaton spat out as he tried to push past the group to get to the door.

Grey reached out and grabbed his arm. “Stop, Slaton.”

Slaton rounded on his father with clenched fists. “She’s out there with him!” Each word came out through gritted teeth.

Forced patience came through Grey’s face and voice. “Yes, I realize that, but you’re giving him what he wants by going out alone half-cocked. Your death would give him as much pleasure as he will have in taking her.”

“Taking her?” Eaton pushed forward and grabbed Grey’s free arm.

Grey sighed and looked over at his wife. She nodded. They had to tell them everything. Tahnee moved forward and filled the men on the prophecy and how Brenna fit it. “It is her virginity he wants. Once he has that, we won’t be able to stop him.”
