The same fog appeared, rolling into Brenna’s mind. She sought out the image projecting it but saw nothing. No images. No sounds.
“Hello?”
Silence greeted her.
“Who’s there?”
The fog got thicker. She felt it on her. Never had the fog seemed so real that she could actually feel it.
“Calm down, my dear. It is only me.”
Brenna sighed. “Sakari, you didn’t answer me when I called.”
“I wanted to see how much you desired my voice.”
“We are on our way.”
“I know. I see everything you do. I’m with you.”
“I can feel you. I feel a peace in where we are going.”
“You should, but don’t let your guard down.”
“Does he know we’re gone?”
“Not yet. But he will soon. You’ll feel his anger. He’ll talk to you. Slaton will feel his presence when he appears anywhere in human form.”
“Where is he now?”
“Jolon is one that can only sustain energy in human form for so long.”
“He’s not human?”
“That is a good question. Is one human when they sell their soul?”
