“Mia! She’s getting warm. Help!” His voice was still muffled, but the panic was loud both verbally and telepathically. As he spoke, he sent out a mental scream that shook her.
“I know! I know!” Miakoda also felt the warmth radiate from Brenna’s body from where she stood. She could only imagine how it felt to Layford who had a death grip on his sister. Fear gripped her as she thought of them all being burned alive. Brenna had no idea of the power she possessed. Her thoughts were solely focused on her dead husband. Out of desperation she flung her body on top of Brenna, slowing down the frantic woman’s progress. The process only slowed slightly but still continued. The heat from Brenna caused the other two to sweat.
“Brenna! The baby! Think of the baby!” Miakoda shouted.
Brenna froze as the words sunk in. Her body began to cool though she was still stiff and reaching out with fingers dug into the soil. Her heart raced and pounded loud enough for them all to hear.
