Searching

Grey sat down next to the water rushing below the cliff. He had transformed back into a human after going down the side of the riverbank and then back up the other side. The other wolves were doing the same, hoping they would find something that had been missed. Grey forced himself to pull out of the search for a while. His grief in wolf form was too distracting for the rest of the pack. They could not focus on finding Slaton’s body as Grey mourned. In human form, he had to force his thoughts and emotions on them. In wolf form, they felt it all.

The sun began its trek down the sky to where it met with the earth on the horizon. It had spent a long time in the sky as they searched. A part of Grey felt that it had lingered for them. He knew it wasn’t the case, but if the sun could be held in the sky once before for battle surely it would for the search for Slaton.
