Tadi sat in the room with his eyes closed. It had been decades since he had taken a spiritual journey. He wasn’t sure he was up to it, but Tahnee and Grey--as well as the elders--firmly believed it was what they all needed. So, he now sat cross-legged trying to clear his mind so he could connect with the spirits.
Gradually, he began to relax and remember how the journey worked. He knew the technical side of it. That part was easy. It was the emotional side that he fought with remembering. As memories came back to him, Tadi fought a panic attack that threatened to take over him. Having one so close to exploding made it worse because he had never had one before. Embracing his heritage was taking an emotional and mental toll on him he had not expected nor welcomed. A part of him was thinking he should run back home and forget it all again.
“If you forget it, you’ll lose the biggest part of yourself.”
