The Trail

Within a few hours of Tadi waking up to find Laura sitting beside him, the clearing began to heal. The grass underneath them turned green and began to slowly spread out to heal the trees around the clearing and beyond. The smell of decay was replaced with the fragrance of the flowers that began to bloom where once death had reigned.

Tadi and Laura looked at wonder as the celestial bodies lit up the area around them. The sign of rebirth was strong.

Laura whispered, “What happened?”

Tadi shook his head. “I’m not sure.”

She opened her mouth to comment, but a gasp came out instead. Before them a shimmering light materialized and finally brought about an image of George sitting with them.

“Grandfather!” Tadi exclaimed.

“Hello, Tadi.” George smiled. He turned toward Laura. “Hello, my dear. I hear that you are a little confused.”
