Chapter 56

It was just like the two of them talked about. They discussed the final details of their plans to meet on the weekend on the phone. There wasn't much to change though. Jace still insisted on meeting at his place, and Lorelei, well, she really did not have much choice.

And so, here she is, standing in front of Jace's door.

She let out one exasperated sigh before raising her hand to press the doorbell. The mere sight of Jace's door drains her energy already. What more if she enters his den?

Lorelei shook her head, her face crumpled in a frown. She doesn't want to think about what's next.

She remained planted for what seemed like eternity already, yet Jace still hasn't opened his apartment's door to welcome her.

"What the heck?" Lorelei grumbled. "He's the one who offered to finalize our paper in his place, yet he wouldn't even open his door for me?" She couldn't help but roll her eyes in annoyance.
