Chapter 43: The Wasteland

The three of them continued to walk towards Route 13. There was a bridge connecting Route 13 and Route 14, but it was under construction. They had no way to go to Route 14. Carson had an Idea, He said his Blastoise had learned Surf and they could go across the river with Blastoise. Only 1 person could fit on Blastoise's shell so all 3 of them would have to go separately. Carson jumped on Blastoise first, The surf ride between Route 13 and 14 was around 50-75 meters. Blastoise then came back and picked up Georgia. Finally, Blastoise went to get Mike and they entered Route 14.

Route 14 looked like a wasteland, there was litter and debris everywhere. There were Trubbish and Garbodor walking around the route. Mike, Carson, and Georgia were in disgust. They walked throughout the route trying to avoid stepping in any garbage. In the distance, they saw a lake that was glowing bright green, Mike was confused on what that was. Then, they saw a person wearing a Hazmat suit carrying 2 barrels with a radioactive symbol on the barrels.

The strange person then opened the barrels and poured a bright green liquid, which was identical to the one in the lake, in the water. Carson recognized that liquid and said that it was liquid uranium. Uranium is dangerous to the earth and it shouldn't be disposed of in lakes. The person then saw the three of them and ran off throughout the lake. They saw a power plant in the distance and saw 2 Team Boom Grunts hassling an Electric Worker.

They ran up and heard that the grunts needed the special bionic transformer now, or else there would be trouble. Mike ran up and interfered. Mike ordered the Grunts to battle him. The electric worker offered to make it a double battle. Mike agreed. Grunt A sent out Mightyena, Grunt B sent out Camerupt. Mike sent out Decidueye and the worker sent out Raichu. Decidueye used Leaf Blade on Mightyena, Raichu used Thunderbolt on Camerupt. Mightyena used Dark Pulse on Decidueye and Camerupt used Flame burst on Raichu. Decidueye finished off Camerupt with Leaf Blade and Raichu finished off Mightyena with an Electro Ball.

The Team Boom grunts were defeated. Grunt A said that they were planning something big up ahead. Grunt B said that the boss was in town and not to meddle with him. Then, they ran off to the next city. The worker thanked Mike for his help and give him a Thunderstone for his thanks. Mike and the gang walked through Route 14 to enter the next city and to stop Team Boom...
