Biologist Elain Mavka is sent to a foreign planet recently named Miea.  A place where she gets free range to explore, document, and report the findings of site 27-43. Otherwise known as the Mushroom Forest. What seems to be beautiful and mysterious turns out to be just that. Where Elain is the first explorer to make contact with humanoid aliens. Though are they really the aliens when she is on their planet?

Her only company on this journey is young Milo Zephyr, who is still in his training wheels, and Selcouth, a companion she encounters soon after their arrival. Well, them and the strange feeling that they are being watched.

On another side of the spectrum, the older sister (Enya) of her infant brother (Kenton) are looking for a way to survive up in the station effectively named Head Quarters. Her with an assistant's job to keep everything in order on the ship. Then, with no explanation, there was a sudden blaring siren and flashing red lights. A guard she knew, who was a few years older than her, marches them straight to an escape pod. Sending them to a planet they've never known before.

The three of them landed on completely unexplored territory of this planet and it didn't take long for Enya to stumble into a nine-foot monster of a creature. Or, rather, it stumbled into her.

The sound of Mori landing on the balcony forced her into a state of semi-conscious. Her blue eyes barely opened from where she was still sitting on the floor. She must have fallen asleep a while after he left. Was it actually Mori who landed on the balcony? It had to have been, who else would it be? Her head rolled back to rest against the wall to get rid of the crick in her neck. Half-closed eyes still trying to keep open. 


The monster of a man basically stalked into the home, searching for her until he found her on the floor. She gave him a slow blink that had him freezing in place. He had a large backpack of sorts with him that he laid quietly on to the ground.
