For the rest of the rather cramped ride, Elain was in and out. Never truly there and never truly gone. Everything she had been thinking about saying to the ones they were about to meet went up in smoke rather quickly. With the pain of each breath, she didn’t really have it in her to plan out a whole speech. Which made her feel like a terrible host. The woman was basically the one organizing this get together at this point. Yet, she could barely keep her eyes open. How was she supposed to get everything she wanted done on this field trip if she was too busy trying to mend bones?
