Chapter 417: Making A House A Home, Part 2

The wind picked up, and I shivered. Stepping back inside, I rubbed my hands up and down my arms to get rid of the chill.

Whitney stood staring at the front door. My heart splintered for her, for the fear I knew she was feeling right now. I walked up and draped my arm around her shoulders.

"They're going to be okay," I said. "They'll take care of each other."

"I know." Whitney sighed. "So, what do you want to do today?"

I grinned. "I'm going to redecorate the cabin."

Her eyes widened and then sparkled with interest. "Redecorate how?"

Looping my arm through hers, I turned her toward the hallway. I walked her through the house, explaining what Trent and I had decided to do with each room. My excitement built the more I talked, and I couldn't wait to get started.
