Chapter 456: Happy, Part 2

By the time Isach left - four hours later - I was emotionally and physically drained. Isach hadn't held back, and he'd rubbed my emotions raw. As much as I hated it, it had worked. I could now pinpoint my tells much sooner, and the second I began to feel my skin tingle, I worked on controlling my reactions. I hadn't had a single outburst.

When I shuffled into the living room, everything was clean. No more blood anywhere. A new flatscreen television hung in the same place as the one I'd broken earlier, and Trent sat on a brand new sectional sofa. The busted dining room table had been replaced, too, and the sliding glass doors were sparkling clean.

Wow. Trent hadn't been kidding when he said he'd make sure everything was cleaned up. I felt slightly guilty he'd done all this, but a bigger part of me was relieved - I didn't have the energy to clean right now. I barely had the energy to walk over to Trent and flop down beside him, but somehow, I managed.
