Jax and I sat on the couch, talking. "So, you haven't given any thought to Whitney's party planning business idea?" he asked.
I shook my head. "Not really. Been a little preoccupied with other things," I said. "Why? Have you?"
He nodded. "She's got a solid plan," he said.
"Wait, so you're going to do it?" I asked, shocked. "You're going to cater whatever events she ends up planning?"
We had talked once about Jax opening his own restaurant because he did love to cook, and he's really good at it. But he'd sort of dismissed the idea.
"Seems like a good use of my talents," he said. "Besides, it's not like I'm doing anything else."
"I like her idea, and it does seem like it could be fun, but with twins on the way, when am I going to have time?" I laughed.
Before Jax could respond, the front door burst open. He was on his feet in a flash, body poised for a fight. I scrambled to stand behind him, my heart in my throat.
Then, the top of a tree appeared. "Watch out," Trent said.
