I closed my eyes against the threat of tears and spun back around so I was facing him. "Please don't make me cry right now," I said.
"Sorry," he said with a frown. Taking my face into his hands, he caressed my cheeks with his thumbs. "Watching you just now. . . it all finally hit me. How lucky I am to have found you, to have this life with you."
"Pretty sure I'm the lucky one in this situation," I said.
He chuckled, then brought his lips down to mine. My eyes fluttered closed, and I leaned into him. His hands moved from my face to my neck, his thumb stroking over the bite mark, and I whimpered. Behind me, collective groans rippled through the room.
"C'mon, you two. Can't that wait until we're gone?" Isach said, his tone teasing.
"Yeah," Colt said. "None of us realized this was going to be a live replay of how Chloe ended up pregnant."
Everyone laughed.
