Ellie, Abby, and Isach were the last people to leave. Trent closed and locked the door behind them, then turned to face me. "Have fun tonight?" he asked.
I nodded. "It was great to see Ellie again. I'm glad she's happy at college." I stretched, then winced.
"What's wrong?" Trent asked, voice immediately full of concern.
"Nothing. Just a little stiff," I said, rubbing at my lower back. "Probably from sitting so long." I sauntered closer and slipped my arms around him.
He raised a brow, a teasing smile lifting the corner of his mouth. "Maybe we need to do something to help loosen you up," he said, his tone suggestive.
I grinned. "Yeah? Like what?"
His smirk turned into a full blown smile, and my heart raced uncontrollably. His gaze slipped from my face for a fraction of a second, just long enough for me to know he'd heard the change in my heartbeat.
"It'll be much better if I just show you," he said, and then he scooped me off my feet and into his arms.
