"Chloe?" Trent approached cautiously, almost as if he were afraid of me. "How do you feel?"
I took a moment to mentally assess myself. I didn't have any stiff muscles. No aches or pains. I'd never felt more well rested in my life. My thoughts were clear and sharp, and I could see and hear things I'd never been able to before.
"Better than ever," I said. "But I'm hungry." As I said that, my stomach growled, and my throat burned with an unsated thirst.
Trent and Jax shared a concerned look, and I narrowed my eyes. They were worried about the curse - had we succeeded in breaking it? Or was my thirst going to morph into uncontrollable bloodlust?
"For God's sake," Whitney said with a huff. "All new vampires need to feed after they change." She disappeared into the kitchen, then returned a second later. She held out a plastic cup. "Drink."
