Five hundred kilometres away from Nova city, Alan was walking up a mountain. After the jungle fiasco and the cold-blooded murder. He needed some time to cool of. And what better place to cool of than his hometown in the mountains.

It was literally very cold there.

After getting the reward money worth one hundred and forty thousand credits. He went straight home to enjoy some peace and quiet. He didn't want to think about what happened during his month-long 'job'. Especially the part about killing a person.

Although the family he has is fake. It didn't mean he can be irresponsible about whatever he was doing. So, he went to his one only family in both lives.

This was exactly the reason he was walking up a mountain in the pitch black of the night carrying different types of bags. Having money didn't mean he could eliminate his thrifty nature. So, he didn't call a taxi and the last bus towards the town was not available that day.

'Buses, as reliable as the government. Most of the time missing while being consistently late. Why even bother listing the time if they couldn't even come on time?' Alan felt vexed. This was way worse than his previous world.

"Does these people think a town on the mountains does not require transportation? Shouldn't relatively safe areas be developed more, rather than the dungeon entrance and cities near them?" Mumbling curses he walked towards the town. It would take more than an hour to reach his home if he walked.

The town he was going towards was called Sapphire hills. A town named after its speciality, a flower known as Sapphire-jasmine. This was a special variant of Jasmine that bloomed once every fourteen years on the sapphire hills and the area around it.

Even in Alan's memories, he had only seen sapphire jasmine bloom once. It was a long time ago when he was six or seven years old. Now that he is twenty and winter is almost over, it was almost time for flowers to bloom.

Just thinking about that made Alan excited. He had never seen such a flower before, it felt more relatable to him than the dungeons, monsters and mutants.

Although the system may seem almighty, it was unable to help him in this frontier. The monotonous clanking of his boots echoed on the empty road. Maybe after he upgrades his strength, he can run up a mountain.

Suddenly, Alan saw a car coming his way. He was excited and asked for a lift.

The car had only one person, A woman in her twenties. She stopped allowed Alan to board knowing that he was going to Sapphire hills.

Why? No one knows. Alan looked average at best with long bangs covering his face. Most people wouldn't even notice him in a crowded space.

'So, that eliminates the fact that I got a ride due to my beauty. What am I even thinking, was I always this narcissistic.'

"Thanks, Mrs?"

"Norton, Emma Norton."

"Thank you, Mrs Norton."

"Not, Mrs Norton. Call me Emma."

"Oh!"

Even Alan was confused by the pointless conversion he was having. The kind person who gave him a ride was a cold ice block. So, to break the ice, he asked.

"Emma, you look like a vampire? Are you taking me to have a feast with your friends? Ha Haha... I am just joking" Said Alan smiling with a stiff face looking at Emma who was even stiffer. Alan thought that his joke would stimulate a more meaningful conversation.

But before Emma could answer her phone rang. She calmly looked at Alan before answering the phone. She was driving so she had to put it on the loudspeaker.

A hurried voice from a woman came from the phone.

"Emma, are you bringing the meat, blood too?" The hurried voice asked with a tint of excitement.

"Last time Mr Brown said you caught a straggler. How was it today? Did you have any luck?" The voice stopped just as Alan broke out into cold sweat.

'It can't be. Can it? Considering my luck till now, it can. It very well fucking can.' Alan turned his head towards the driver seat while slowly lifting his eyes. The first thing that came into his eye line was the red luscious lips of Emma. He swallowed hard seeing the lips curling into a smile.

Even though Alan never heard of there being Vampires in this world. There was every other fantasy creature he could think of, why shouldn't there be any vampires?

"Yes, I caught one. Fresh meat, make the sauce and get ready. We can have a feast today." Replied Emma. She was clearly smiling looking at Alan.

'Is this the infamous death flag that many great authors have said about? Hey, system are you there? Am I about to get sucked dry of my blood? Will only my dried corpse remain?'

[Yes, host. What help do you need this time?]

'Are there vampires? Like the real cold-blooded undead type people who drink blood for sustenance.'

[Yes, there are vampires. But, there are no records of Vampires being present in this part of the planet.]

'Then quickly analyse and scan the person before you and give a report.'

[Scanning…]

[Name: Emma

Human: Advanced

Energy: 9999

Danger-level: B+

Note: Extremely dangerous. Do not antagonise. If enemy, run on sight. ]

'Gulp! This is worse than being with a vampire. Why was such a powerful person in a hillbilly only area? Thankfully she didn't notice me scanning her with the system. Hopefully, she wouldn't eat me.'

"Mr Alan, would you like to have a meal with us? It would be delicious!"

She was teasing Alan with her sweet voice. The seductive smile stunned Alan.

Alan was not a social guy. He didn't know the norms or social decorum. So, he happily accepted her invitation. Besides, he didn't think he had a choice. Confusing even Emma, who thought that he would reject.

After all, one second he was shivering from fear, the next second he was acting as if everything was okay. It made her curious. She went deer hunting today and had more than enough meat for all. So, she was not stumped by the unexpected action of Alan. With how strong she was, she already put Alan in a non-threat category and finally chose to have a meal with him. After all, it was she that invited him.

"Then let's go to my home, People are waiting." That said, she accelerated, driving quickly towards her home.
