Away from me

We arrived at the next village. I was upset cause Lester kept on pestering me to stop the horses after every half an hour. I knew my horses and they didn't like to allow anyone else besides me to ride on them.

I named the white horse Storm and Black horse Snow cause of the white patch of fur that looked like a snow flake. Both of them were my babies that I had rescued during a landslide near the mountains.

Lester was riding Snow and there were plenty of times she wanted to throw him in the air. Sighing, I pulled both of their ropes and tired them near the inn.

"Miss Eve, are you ready to head out?" Lester came around to the stables.

I nodded, "Yes, let's go." I followed after him with a basket in my hand. We bought many herbs used for healing.

While we strolled and bought the herbs, I took a detour to get some herbs for poisoning. I had my own reasons for getting these herbs and Lester wasn't going to stop me from doing what I wanted. Night had quickly fallen and I became quiet annoyed at the fact I couldn't return home.

"I'm so sorry Miss Eve, it wasn't my intention to stay at the village for so long." He frowned. But his eyes told a different story.

"I will get us a room to stay in," he said dashing inside the inn. I followed after him.

"Sorry folks but I only have one room available for y'all." I glared at Lester.

"That is fine, this gentleman will take the room. As for where I'll be staying, would it be alright, if I could stay in the stables with my horses?"

At my sudden request, both of them looked aghast, "Why heavens no my dear, how could I possible allow you to sleep in the stables?!" Lester had grabbed my hand.

"It's quiet alright with me. I do not mind staying with them." I replied, grabbing the keys and handed it to Lester.

I knew why he really brought me here and that was for him to try and get under my dress. He has been trying to get closer to me but men don't care about what women thinks.

"Evelyn, I'm really sorry," He grabbed my shoulders pulling to him, my back hitting his chest.

"I'm never going to be with you Lester! So stop trying to get close with me!" I growled and elbowed his chest and he moved back gasping from the pain.

"And you can get back to the village all on your own! I'm taking my horses and leaving!" I grabbed my set of herbs including the poisonous ones.

I jumped onto Storm's back as Snow neighed loudly, "Let's go Storm! Let's go Snow!" I yelled and we rode into the forest, the quickest way to my village.

It only took us less than two hours to reach there. We didn't stop, we just continued racing in the dark. The moon was high in the sky when we got back. I put both of them in the stables and filled their buckets with fresh water.

"You two stay here, I'm going to head into the forest. I'll be back before sunrise." I whispered to them.

When I stepped out of the house I heard the whispers again from the forest. I guess it was now or never. I had to find the flower and the moon was almost at it's peak. I dashed into the forest climbing up the hills.

The voice getting stronger every second. I found the tree that hid the secret pathway. I moved the fallen leaves aside. And as soon as I entered the cave. The moon flowers bloomed.

The voices in the voice grew so strong as if there were people surrounding the cave. I quickly picked the flowers and laid them in the basket. I quickly grabbed a bottle and went to the stream. I filled the bottle with the water. It wasn't just any water. It was a spring water that had healing properties.

When healing Wolfie, I used the moon flowers and the water from this spring. It was the reason why his wounds healed so quickly. Plants that bloomed under the moonlight had special powers. It was as if it was blessed by the moon.

I was always fascinated by the moon and the forest but ever since the voices began emanating from this place, I grew weary of it.

Sometimes I wished I could be taken away from me. I long to be lost somewhere in a far away place. But I am just a simple village girl that can still dream. And just has I stepped out of the forest. The sun was going to rise. It was still dark but a bit bright. I made my way to the barn and began to clean the herbs and moon flowers.

"Evelyn! Miss Evelyn! Hurry please!"

At the sound of someone shouting, I ran out the barn to see some of the villagers carrying a young man on a stretcher.

"Get him inside!" I told them has they brought him inside of my house. They quickly put him on the medical bed.

He was covered in blood. His face had scratches and the was a large hole on the side of stomach. He was unconscious but breathing.

"What exactly happened to him?" I asked the village chief.

The old man stepped inside, "He's a messenger from the city. He came into the village cause he's seeking someone. He told me before hand that he was coming. But when he arrived, he was injured. It looks like a wolf attack."

A wolf attack?

I nodded and ushered them away. Closing the door, I took the cloth and wiped the blood away. This was not a wolf attack. Wolves don't leave puncture wounds.

These wounds were made by a blade. Quickly getting to work, I removed the shards that was left inside his body. I then put some herbs on the wound. The man groaned and reached for my hands. I chucked his hand away and shoved a cloth in his mouth to stop him from howling.

"I'm trying to save your life! Do you not want to live?!" I yelled at him. He was panting from the pain but he stopped moving.

He was better when he was unconscious. He would have been quite. Even Wolfie wasn't like how he was behaving.

I sighed, animals were better than humans. I prefer treating animals than humans. Animals were more grateful than these humans. Sometimes I wish I was an animal instead of a human.

They seemed to have a easier life than us.
