Hidden Fantasy-A Werewolf's Obsession

Chapter 37-Alessia

The entire home was decked out for a function I was unaware of. I limped down the stairwell slowly, admiring the exquisite decorations on the chandeliers and the bouquets of red roses strewn everywhere. The reception was a garden party held upon a day of blue skies and painful rising heat. A crimson carpet encircled the whole stairway, and I immediately recognised what it was for. It's a wedding. Gorgeous lights hung from the ceilings and small beautiful light trees were put throughout the home. People continued to put more and more decorations everywhere, including a lovely arched flower entrance in the centre of the stairs. Suddenly, white chairs began to be strewn at the bottom of the stairwell, nearly tripping me.

I yelled in horror as I reached the bottom. A woman entered the house carrying a lovely frame with the words...Alessia & Michael wrote on it. As I realised what was going on, tears started to hit the floor. I was startled to see Dad in the kitchen, directing others to arrange decorations and carnations in specific locations. As I walked fiercely towards him, I was simmering with rage. All he did was smirk when he saw me.

"Wonderful to see you here!" We couldn't have that monstrosity face in a bridal gown, but at least you corrected your appearance." He smiled, which made me nauseous.

"What the heck are you doing?" I cried, "You can't get me married, I'm 18!" but all he did was turn away.

"Well, everything has been taken care of. We'll have you married today when you return home, and once everyone has gone, I'll take away your abomination mother's abilities." He yelled, and just as I was going to hit him, he pushed an enormous dress into my hand. I tossed it down on the floor and yelled.

"Go to hell," I snarled at him as I smashed a large bunch of roses into fragments on the floor. Michael approached me and took my hand as I walked out the door.

"How did you like my tiny present?" He questioned as he pulled me towards a gleaming new White Lamborghini with an aqua banner"Just Married" on the back. As he pulled me towards the car, I struck him across the face so hard that a bruise appeared almost immediately.

He bellowed "You Pig" as he was ready to hit me, but I snapped his arm and he collapsed to his knees in anguish.

"I'm not getting married to you." My response will always be the same" I screamed so loudly that my vocals were shattering. With a nasty look on my face, I moved away from him and lit the car in flames.

As Michael raged with wrath, Dad walked out and stared at me with absolute hatred. He started racing towards me, but just as he got a step closer, I ignited the earth on fire, engulfing him in crimson flames.

"It appears you're not the only one with tricks," I said as I crushed a crystal on the floor and dashed inside to Aiden.

"YOU SHALL ALWAYS RETURN!" Just as the doorway closed, he yelled. When I arrived at the car, I was gasping for air, and Aiden stood outside, looking confused.

"All right, let's go," I remarked as We got into the car and started driving to the Academy.

Aiden started heading towards Academy right away. My mind was so wrapped up that I didn't even talk the entire journey, mainly focusing on how sick my father was.

"Alessia, how are you doing?" Aiden inquired, his face to the steering wheel.

"My father is having me married today, just after the memorial, but we'll be gone by then, so it'll be OK," I stated, a mournful tone in my words.

"What the heck is wrong with him?" In a ferocious tone, he yelled. I just sat there, hoping that everything would finally work out. I began adjusted the Bloodstone ring I was wearing on my hand slowly.

As we approached the Academy, Aiden exclaimed, "Hey, I need to tell you something."

"What exactly is it?" With a shaky grin, I inquired.

"Olivia and I discovered the map to the bloodstone!" Olivia discovered it in a buried book bound with an invisibility spell at the library yesterday!" Aiden was ecstatic.

"Wow!" I rejoiced, thinking that the Bloodstone would be the answer to our problems, but I knew that attempting to control the majority of it would kill me.

"When we finish the memorial, we'll start looking for it," Aiden remarked as he led me out of the car. I was taken aback when I saw how many people had gathered at the memorial.

People began heading towards the rear of the Academy while carrying roses and gifts. Aiden and I took a cautious step towards the field behind the school, where gorgeous decorations for Devora had been hung.

The coffin was simple and neat, eco-friendly and modest. As in life, as in passing on. The funeral was sweet sorrow, for in those moments of raw pain, when it feels as if the loving self screams in silent anguish, there are the memories of the good times that come as blossoming spring meadows. A lovely image of Devora was held on a little oak stage, with chairs covering the field.

With tears in my eyes, I slowly put a little red rose on her photo.

As I sat on a chair with Aiden, I whispered to her, "Thank You."

The funeral was, above all, a celebration of her life and accomplishments. Though of dry faces, there were none. As everyone began to speak about her, a woman asked me to step up to the podium.

I attempted to say no, but everyone was staring at me, so I approached the stage trembling with anxiety as I felt as if my bones would break any second. As soon as I got there, I grabbed the microphone and started speaking.

"Hello…Devora was a lady we all didn't realise we needed..." I took a breather, feeling sick with embarrassment. Lights began to flicker briefly, but everyone was taken by surprise. I looked around to find Aiden cheering me on with a bright smile. I inhaled deeply and tried again.

"Devora was a lady we didn't realise we needed until it was too late. She was gentle, compassionate, kindhearted. She was always concerned about the safety of the Academy's students. Yes, she could be dominating at times" I paused as the audience erupted in laughter.

"However, she was merely there to assist us." As everyone began to cheer, I said, "Today we shall remember her memories with happiness and hoist her with our ancestors." With pride for myself, my heart began to pound loudly inside my chest. Unexpectedly, there was a humming in the air, and extremely cold gusts of wind began to develop all over.

When I looked up, ominous grey clouds were developing all around me. The storm came with a sepia hint to the silver-black sky, as if it already knew the winds and rain it wrought would echo for eternity. I gasped as lightning struck about an inch away from me. Everyone began screaming and running about in terror as they turned their heads to the skies. When I saw an army of Vampires around me, I panicked.

"DIE!" They began to circle all around me, chanting almost as if they were part of a cult they were in for their entire lives.
