Hidden Fantasy-A Werewolf's Obsession

Chapter 48-Alessia

You must awaken, and now is the time for you to do so. My eyes snapped wide, devoured by what appeared to be raging red flames as I yelled to myself. I attempted to glance around to see what was going on, but it proved futile. Suddenly, an ache began to build inside my skull, like if someone were mercilessly compressing it, causing me to suffer indefinitely. Instantly, I was displayed the memories of Logan and the way I had abandoned him by myself since I was too reluctant to express these sentiments because I didn't want to break Aiden's heart, but no matter how hard I tried to conceal them, they kept exposing themselves and reminding me what I was feeling.

Each emotion, sensation, and memory all hit me at the same time, pulling my soul to the depths of hell as I writhed in anguish, screaming in agony, but no vocals were created no matter how loud I screamed. As I sat there in misery, as another outburst emerged from beneath the ground. A recollection that was so awful to me that I had to take deep breaths to keep myself from passing out. It was of Noah and the way he let me go with a swipe of his hand. Because of what he had chosen, our friendship was shattered. Had he considered what that meant for us? What did it mean for us to let me go? Tears flowed down my cheeks as the heat of the devouring flames caused my face to crackle. As if a torrent had suddenly sprung from my head, revealing all of my pure emotions and sentiments that were resting dormant in my brain. Unpredictably, an overpowering sensation burst inside of me, and before I knew it, I was empty.

"AAARGH!" I wept as the flames that surrounded me began to imbibe within my body, spewing everywhere in a gratifying crackle.

Within a minute, all of the flames had vanished, leaving me alone in my ocean of sentiments. I crumpled to the ground on my knees and screamed, as my hands became coated in a thick sludge mixed with blood,

"How come you abandoned me, Noah?! Why?!" I grieved and poured my heart out as much as I could. I put my arms around myself, snuggling myself one final time as if I and Noah were embracing each other before we parted ways. Aiden came up to me and offered me a concerned embrace, but it didn't feel the same. I wanted my friend, the one who genuinely cared about me.

He muttered, "It's alright," as he smoothed my hair with his palm in such a way that it crushed my heart to tell him the truth. I simply laid there in Aiden's arms, letting go of everything I'd been trying to suppress. A Vampire of course rushed us with a voracious leer, but Aiden slammed a wood stake into his heart and he collapsed to ashes just as he got close. As I refocused, the roars and shouts surged forcefully in the atmosphere, reminding me that the conflict was still raging on. I exclaimed as I jumped to my feet and stared in incredulity at the seashore. Hundreds of victims lay torn to bits on the floor, with the entire ground converted into crimson. Wolves were mixed in among the dead, their eyes filled with horror and anguish as they realised they had just fallen. Even yet, the fight went on, with no one realising the impact this battle would have on the rest of the world.

"Aiden, we have to stop them," I replied weakly, brushing away my now-warm tears and putting on a ferocious expression.

"Come on, we've got a friend to save," he added with a smile as he gripped my hand and we resumed our sprint towards the cave, whilst I remained bewildered.
