The scape

A few days passed and I finally decided to start putting my plan into practice, the sooner I left the safer it would be, both for me and for the couple who were sheltering me.

That morning I was helping Lady Briana with her daily chores, despite my caution about them, I wanted to at least repay her kindness.

"Elora dear, you don't have to do these things, just rest and recover well"

"No discussion Lady Briana, I will help you, this is my way of showing my gratitude" I told Lady Briana with a look that wouldn't change my mind.

"* sigh * So get comfortable, but don't try too hard!" She warned me with a look full of concern, it made me feel warm inside, it was nice to have the company of a welcoming family, but I couldn't stand that feeling, not after what happened.

"Don't worry, I better than anyone know my own limits," she said with a laugh.

"* laughs * Yes, yes, you're right"

I helped Ms. Briana with household chores during the day, Brayan also joined us, it was a busy day, it had been a long time since I felt that way.

Night came, we had dinner and talked a little before everyone went to sleep, I, of course, pretended to sleep.

Time passed slowly, just past midnight and soon it would be around one in the morning. I tiptoed out of the room, doing my best not to make any noise and waking the residents of the house, keeping an eye on the surroundings, taking care not to wake anyone, walking slowly towards the back door.

Unobstructed, I left the house that had taken me in last week, I was a little reluctant, but I couldn't stay there, couldn't give myself this privilege of having a new family, at least not until I found answers.

Who I am? Where did I come from? Why did they want to capture me?

All these questions have filled my mind and haunted me ever since that incident, an incident that changed my life, destroyed my home, left a scar on my heart and made me drown in grief.

I walked alone on that cold night, I looked at the bright moon that was in the sky, so beautiful but so lonely.

"* sigh * I can't be disappointed..." I told myself I had to be strong but it wasn't easy, the darkness that surrounded me reminded me of what happened that night, the night that changed everything, the night that took away everything I loved and valued.

"Grandma, I miss you... * sobbing *"

I couldn't allow myself to cry, but I couldn't help it, I missed that person who was always by my side, who always supported me, my only family...

After walking for a few hours, I climbed a tree and leaned against its branches and leaves.

Sadness filled me inside and I allowed myself to cry, my sobs heaped in the dark of night.
