Pratical classes (part 02)

I calmly positioned myself in the middle of the training field and repeated those familiar moves I had been practicing since I was six years old.

I positioned the bow at 90° in relation to my arm and placed the arrow, fitting it perfectly, tightened my grip and with enough force I pulled and released the arrow after aiming at the target that was in the distance.

My movements were quick and smooth and all the action took place within seconds.

In less than a minute I fired almost twenty arrows and they all hit the vital points of the fixed target that was in the center of the field perfectly.

After finishing the entire process I carefully lowered the bow and put it back in place before walking slowly back to my seat.

The field was silent and if a pin were dropped in the air you could hear it falling to the ground, only the sound of the wind was audible at that moment.

*Sigh*

The teacher was even the first to come back to reality before starting to say her thoughts. "Your movements are smooth and fast, whether your posture, strength or aim, they were perfectly executed which shows that you are a natural archer and that you have trained for a long time. If I may ask, how long have you been practicing and who taught you ?"

I expected these words, it was not the first time I heard them and having my grandmother as my mentor I had a lot of confidence in my abilities. "I've been practicing since I was six, which means I've been practicing for about 11 years, as for whoever taught me, I always learned from my grandmother before I came to Marva for personal reasons"

I responded politely while cutting down any questions teacher Lana might ask next.

She took my hint when I said I came to Marva for personal reasons and didn't go into the subject any further.

We continued with the classes normally and each of us was assigned different tasks to practice that afternoon.

Finishing afternoon classes, we were getting ready to head home when the teacher called me for a short chat.

"Elora, would you be interested in joining the Academy's archery team? There are some groups that have been created to carry out small missions and competitions planned by the Guild of Mercenaries and the Royal Family, plus in three months we will have a competition of cultural exchange between kingdoms and the Kingdom of Aran will participate again this year, the best students of each modality will be selected to represent the Kingdom and I would like you to be one of the representatives, what do you say?"

I looked into Lana's expectant eyes and brooded for a while, but that wasn't something I could give an immediate answer to so I responded. "Can I answer after considering it for a while? I want to think some more before I give you a definitive answer" I asked politely.

"Of course! Of course! No rush but please consider my offer"

"I'll think carefully, until next class!"

"See you in the next class!"

I said goodbye to the teacher and returned home lost in thought.

That doesn't seem like a bad idea, right?
