1st day (part 03)

Soon the second round started and some of the group of first year students participated.

Like the previous round, as soon as the signal was given, another arrow shower happened as everyone did their best to hit as many targets in the allotted time.

Unlike the veterans, the rookies didn't have a lot of experience, which was apparent when the matches started.

They made more mistakes and not all arrows reached their targets and consequently their scores were lower, reaching up to about half the score of the more experienced groups, of course, there were some promising people.

"Gee, there are some really bad people!" Commented Arthur.

"*laughs* You can't say it, since you're just as bad as they are" Merida countered.

"I just wasn't born to be an archer" Arthur muttered resignedly.

I laughed at their interactions and turned my gaze to the scoreboard that had just been updated.

||| Score |||

Aran - 317 + 115

Genevieve - 314 + 256

Avalon - 320 + 100

Vaughan - 310 + 316

Aodh - 325 + 190

The next rounds continued without interruption and after almost 2 and a half hours, the first phase was finished.

Participants would have 1 hour of rest until the next phase began and conversations in the stands were heated.

"Who do you think will win this first stage?"

"I have no idea, the biggest point discounts came from the rookies while the veterans did relatively well in this phase, in fact, this was the easiest of the three"

"I think the Kingdom of Vaughan will win this first round, their rookies are very promising"

Many murmurs could be heard in the stands about guesses who would win the first test.

The first race was not very good for Aran but it was still possible to recover the difference in points with the subsequent phases.

I returned my gaze to the field and saw the tense faces of the students and could only inwardly sigh. "Apparently, they couldn't recover the lost difference"

The hour soon passed and finally, the second phase was starting.
