2nd day (part 04)

My turn soon came and as in the first phase, I took my focus to peak state before entering the field and once the countdown was over and the discs were sent through the air, I positioned my arrows quickly before hitting one target after another.

Totally focused from the field, I hit one target after another and praticaly never missed a target.

Regardless of whether it was two or three targets at once, I hit them accurately and when everyone least expected it, time had run out.

The public reaction was as exaggerated as before and after finishing my race I left the field and sat in a shady place to wait for the results.

A few more hours passed as more and more students introduced themselves.

It was certainly at this stage that the real talents appeared and many really good people in this modality could soon be located.

When the result came out, unsurprisingly, my name was qualified for the next phase and thus, the second day of competitions ended.

Packing up my belongings, I calmly left the field and found Brayan waiting for me on the way.

"Let's talk in my room, we can't let anyone else know about this matter or our plan will be in vain" I spoke in a low voice once I reached him and when I saw him nod in agreement, we walked silently towards the dorms.

Entering the room, I put away my bow and tied my hair, which was in a ponytail, into a bun.

Sitting down at the table, I offered Brayan some tea and we got back to the matter at hand.

"I spoke to my grandfather and he agreed" Brayan began. "He said that his hypothesis is most likely correct and to advance the preparations he gave me a copy of the files so I can give you"

"Good" I said after taking a sip of tea and took the papers in Brayan's hands.

Just as I imagined, the test that had the most entries was the 7th day race: Strategic mixed group combat.

There would only be five groups, one from each kingdom and almost all the students from the five schools would be participating.

The test itself would be a simulation of a medium-scale battle where each of the participants would have to form a strategy to defend their territory and conquer the others.

The entire structure for the simulation would be set up on the training ground and the ranking would be in the order given in descending order of those eliminated first.

Looking at all the evidence on the test I soon came to the conclusion that this would probably be the most likely time for us to be attacked.

However, I felt that there was something more important that I should find out that would be crucial to how 'An Sinnsir' managed to infiltrate this event.

Unable to discover anything else with the meager range of information we had, I chatted with Brayan for a few more hours before we parted.

Sitting at the table and looking at the papers strewn across it, I sighed feeling tiredness wash over me and looked up at the bright moon in the sky as I mumbled in the silence of the night. "Who's behind all this? And why?"
