Decisions

???'s point of view:

Looking at the sky outside I saw that it was almost night, I got up from my chair in my office and prepared to go to the meeting point.

The streets were already dark and only the dim light of the lamps could be seen through the deserted streets.

Following the main road I entered a dark alley in a peripheral area of the city and followed it to the end where you could see a busy bar.

Wearing a black hooded cloak so I wouldn't be recognized, I pushed open the door to enter.

A few glances scanned me but it was not uncommon for some people not to want their identity recognized as it was an open secret that that particular bar was a place where secret information could be exchanged.

I walked up to the bartender and said a few words to him in a low voice.

Listening to them attentively, he excused himself as he entered quickly to notify the superiors.

It wasn't long before he came back and then he asked me to come in.

I followed him to a room in the inner quarters of the bar that was heavily guarded by some guards and after I was allowed into the room the first thing I saw was a tall man, with a relaxed bearing but that did not diminish his authority, I knew I shouldn't underestimate that man.

"Good evening sir, I came here as soon as I was asked, is there anything I can do to Your Excellency?" I said as I bowed slightly.

The man just stood there, watching me lazily and I could see a hint of mockery in his eyes as he looked at me as if he despised even talking to me.

Looking away from me, he turned around and picked up a folder of documents that was beside the sofa where he was sitting and threw it roughly on the coffee table that was in the middle of the room.

The lighting inside the room was dim and the candlelight reflecting off that man's crimson eyes sent a shiver down my spine as I shivered slightly.

"This will be our last warning, don't be careless, you've been working for us for a few years now so you should understand well the consequences if you become a burden to us"

"Inside this folder is all the information about the members of this mission that you will need to carry out our plan so don't mess it up, memorize all the information and then burn the papers"

"Yes sir" I replied hurriedly as I approached and took the papers, I bowed slightly and hurriedly left the room.

Leaving the back rooms I didn't even look back as I left the bar and blended into the darkness as I returned to my quarters unnoticed by anyone.

I made a decision a few years ago and I wouldn't regret it, I had to prove my loyalty to them in order to officially join the organization.

Some might call me a fool, but I didn't care, I was sure of my decision.

Taking a deep breath with a resolute look on my face, I followed through the darkness of the night.
