Traitor (part 01)

Elora's point of view:

I turned my gaze to Joyce and said as I stood up. "So, I'm heading back to the dorms, it's dark outside and I have to go back before they stop by to check the rooms, tomorrow I'll be back at the same time so we can make the final preparations"

I turned my gaze to Neila and asked. "Will you come back with me or will you stay here longer?"

"I'll come back with you, it wouldn't be good if they didn't find me in my room"

Saying goodbye to Joyce, I leaved the flower shop with Neila.

We walked in silence through the dark streets, until Neila was the first to break the silence.

"What are the chances of actually they carrying out an attack in the next two days?"

"Right now, about 99% sure"

"That is, it is practically certain that they will make a move"

"Exactly, I've been talking to Joyce and we also have a list of possible suspects who are among the students, faculty and staff of the City Lord's house"

"And what are our chances of capturing them?"

"This is a little difficult to know, we estimated a 50% chance, however, this number can be around 30% if we consider other factors that may influence the execution of the plan"

I saw her nod her head indicating that she understood the general situation and we continued talking along the way.

The night shone majestically in the starry sky and as I looked at it I couldn't help but mutter under my breath. "It's a full moon, we will have an advantage during this period"

After meeting Joyce and Sabrina I learned even more information about witches.

Apparently, our abilities are a blessing given by the Moon Goddess to maintain order in the mundane land and that we were chosen for our peculiar coloring of eyes and hair. According to them, our hair and eyes were like a representation of the veil of night that accompanied the moon on her lonely journey and in granting us this blessing, we were given the ability to light up the darkness that permeates the world with pure silver shine from the moon.

So much so that when one of us made a serious mistake that was against the wishes of the Moon Goddess, our hair lost its distinctive black color and lost its natural shine, turning dull and then turning gray, just like our black eyes, as a mark of our betrayal.

Suddenly sensing something, I signaled for Neila to stop and for her to follow me silently behind a bush on the road.

A questioning look appeared on her face but I asked her to wait a little before saying what happened.

It didn't take long for my sight to be greeted by a person dressed in black holding a briefcase hurriedly walking past as if running from something.

I exchanged a look with Neila who was beside me and as if she had deciphered the meaning hidden in my eyes, she nodded slightly as we started following that figure.
