The Guide

We sat and waited for what seemed forever. We finished lunch, talking about how I was going to go about things. Octavia and I decided to go through most of the neighboring countries to root out the Demon king's generals and help those we come across. The queen recommended that I work with the adventures guild whenever I could. We got the guild master to meet with us and present our badges. He handed me a dark metallic red badge.

"This is the highest badge we can give to you, given your achievements already I'd say hardly anyone would be likely to argue it." The guild master quipped as I sewed it onto the arm of my coat. Octavia was handed a dark black one.

I nodded and looked at the queen. She was quietly sipping from her cup lost in thought. She gazed out the open balcony, her eyes sad. a quiet wind blew in the open window, her hair slightly dancing in it. Her pale skin shone brightly in the sun.

"Sir William please make sure you come back alive." She said turning to me.

"Are you saying you'll miss me if something happens?" I asked with a smile.

her eyes met mine and the truth came to light.

"Sir William, I think you already know the answer. your charms are hard to resist." She replied quietly.

I was shocked. Her face is red with blush. Octavia laughed.

"I told you I had no problem sharing him. a man like him will need many mistresses and many kids." She smiled at Serenity.

"Let's change the topic. It seems your guide has arrived. She was an expert adventurer and an amazing dungeon cartographer. She will be a valuable asset to your team." Serenity said avoiding Octavia's statement. Her eyes shot daggers at her. I laughed loudly.

"You two are too much. So, what's this guide's name?" I asked drying my eyes.

"My name is Elisa sir William and it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I will have the opportunity to guide you to the realm of the demons." A thin blonde woman walked into the room. her slim figure was built with muscles. she stood taller than me. I stood up and bowed to her.

"The pleasure is ours. We will be traveling together so please watch over me." I replied.

"A human male with manners, strange. Most of your kind are horny little creatures always trying to fulfill an elf fetish." She said gruffly.

"Oh, William can be a pervert. He somehow won Mine and the Queen's heart!" Octavia replied smiling.

"Hush you!" Serenity exclaimed.

Elisa looked at us and began laughing.

"What a talented man. We best keep him away from the orcs, they will love him!" She snorted clapping me on the back.

Both Octavia and Serenity laughed loudly.

"With how strong he is every orc woman would want to bed him. They are crazy ones that are for sure!" Serenity snorted laughing still.

"Even he would have a hard time matching their stamina." Octavia snickered.

"Are they that bad?" I asked.

"Let's just say they are a bit forceful with partners who can give good seeds. Strength especially favored among them." Elisa explained.

"While elves like Elisa love intelligent and cultured men." Serenity pointed out.

"We prefer to have companions who can hold a thoughtful conversation. It's hard to live for so long without a stimulating experience once in a while." Elisa shrugged.

We chatted like this until dusk. Our laughter filled the castle. The maids serving us seemed in high spirits as well. We learned that Elisa was from The Forest of the elves where several types of elven species lived. She wanted to go over the route and plans for the journey.

"As of right now we head towards Halestrum. we help any along the way while keeping an eye out for the demon king's activity. Two villages here were already compromised by them. I lost all I protected when I first left the forest of the damned. I have a few words I would love to have with the demon king." I replied.

"Well, I guess I can get behind that. maybe we can even find more to join us along the way." Elisa said with a big smile.

"It'll be an adventure to remember. pretty sure things will get crazy from time to time." I replied.

We chatted for a while longer before eating dinner. The queen held a grand banquet with the three of us. Large quantities of food were brought out. We ate and drank our fill before heading to our bedchambers.

The next morning, we all got up early. The queen gifted me some leather armor and a sword. The steel felt heavy hanging from my waist. Octavia was in a dress with a chest plate. The dress was seemed to have a slit up to her hip. The dark red made her ghostly pale skin-pop. Elisa showed up with a few quivers and guild; elegant looking bow. We packed food and camping materials such as a tent and bedrolls. We decided to go on foot was the best choice, for now, I suggested we stop at the guild to take a quick job to get some extra funds. Everyone agreed and we set out. The guild was this massive building that looked kind of like a bank from the earth. Large marble pillars gleamed in the morning sun. Several older adventures were drinking coffee or tea at the restaurant across the street from it. people were just now starting to wander the streets. Merchant stalls and food stalls began opening up, the sweet aroma of food began filling the air. We walked into the guild; A large desk sat in the middle of an open room. Behind it sat a timid-looking bunny woman. Her ears twitched towards us as if hearing our very footsteps.

"We are looking for a job miss," I said pointing to the badge on my arm.

"Yes sir. wait a moment You're a Blood tier adventurer! Hey, guild master when did we get a Blood tier adventurer!" The seemingly quiet woman erupted loudly at the sight of my badge.

A loud crash then silence. The usually busy adventurer's guild was suddenly filled with mere whispers. A heavy-footed dwarf came running into the room from another area. His face beat red from running.

"A blood tier? Are you sure??" The dwarf puffed out between breaths.

"This is the badge I received from the guild leader yesterday while staying with her majesty," I replied.

The dwarf's face went from red to white.

"Your him, aren't you? The shoe in from nowhere. Popped up killing a Viper wolf, A undead commander with his bare hands, and even struck down the holy terror known as Airendell? This young man here could probably go toe to toe with a dragon and come out on top. This here is what a warrior looks like!" The dwarf seemed enticed by the tales of my exploits.

He grabbed my arm and lead me towards a large private room. A maid stood awaiting orders. We sat opposite the dwarf on an overstuffed couch. He waved to the maid, and she scurried away. soon after she returned with cakes and tea.

"Have some of this dwarven tea. It'll put hair on that bare chest of yours boy." The dwarf laughed loudly.

I took a drink and almost gagged.

"Sir that was straight bourbon. What the hell!" I exclaimed sputtering from the large drink I took.

The dwarf laughed a hearty laugh.

"Damn right That's why it's called dwarven tea. We only drink the finest alcohol. So our tea is a decent bourbon. Burns nicely, doesn't it? Oh, I'm Dereph. I run this branch of the guild. The other man you met is named Jerek. He runs this countries head branch of the adventurer guild." Dereph explained waving his hand gesturing towards the guild building.

His smile suddenly turned dark.

"I have a job for you. only for your rank. There's a village That's been attacked recently, wiped completely out. Our Intel says the next one is the city of Cherub. They will need reinforcements from us. Would you be willing to go with another blood tier we have here and handle the matter?" Deep asked.

I looked at the girls and they nodded. Another quest has been started.
