CHAPTER 30: TO THE BASE (2)

CHAPTER 30: TO THE BASE (2)

Kyrie was still after sighting the incoming klaur, as she detected.

— There are four wolf-type klaur, each facing forth.

On noticing this, Kyrie clutched the scythe.

Green mana imbued into the scythe's blade, increasing its sharpness.

Kyrie dashed forth toward the incoming klaur, making a stop, before raising the scythe into the air.

The klaur couldn't react to her speed, as all it could see was a green flash.

With the scythe up in the air, its blade faced down, its edge then stroked the klaur.

*Swoosh*

The sound of the scythe blade piercing through the klaur's head left a piercing howl in the air. Aria, who was a bit farther from Kyrie, could clearly hear the sound of the scythe strike.

She was stunned by the speed and accuracy of Kyrie. Truly, she could be any deadlier.

After striking the first klaur's head, Kyrie then released the blade from its head.

The moment the blade was removed, a thick blue fluid, known as the'klaur's blood', could be sighted as it painted the blade.

Kyrie then shifted her gaze to the remaining three klaurs.

With the blade still painted in blue, she turned to the left as she thrust it through the air.

*Swoosh*

The second sound was the scythe making a horizontal slash, piercing through the klaur's head.

After the second strike, the other klaurs noticed Kyrie as her weapon was still struck to the klaur.

*Grhh*

Both klaurs then jumped, with the intention of attacking her while she can't attack, on her blind spot.

Kyrie smiled as she observed the klaurs in the air, with their mouths wide open.

She then said.

"Eve, Guns!"

In an instant, the scythe glowed, then turned into two white shot guns.

As she equipped both guns, she then turned, shifting her gaze behind, and aimed at the two klaurs.

*peew*

*peew*

The sound of two gun shots howled in the area, as two green lights aimed at the klaur's mouth shot through the klaurs in the air, killing them both.

The klaurs then vanished, leaving traces of black dust lingering and in the air.

All that didn't take Kyrie more than 2 minutes to kill all the klaurs.

Aria was still, as couldn't do anything but watch. Petrified by the fact that she fought them all, and came unshattered.

Afterwards, Kyrie gazed at the black dust lingering in the air for a while before she strode down to Aria, wondering.

— Four klaurs making a trap... It seems like the usual klaurs pattern is changing. Why?

Wait, wolf-type klaurs only hunt—lone or in pack... It's impossible for them to work in a group, except...

*Grhh*

Another klaur was heard as Kyrie headed back to meet Aria.

Heading down, Kyrie then spotted a humanoid klaur coming from the trees behind Aria.

It was not more than 5 meters tall, its body was black, with its visible joints covered in blue crystals.

It glared at Aria with its menacing multi-eyes and smiled.

Thereafter, raising its hands as it changed shape into a sword, glaring with the intent of attacking Aria.

Realizing this, Aria dropped to her knees as she remembered the trauma she had fighting.

*Swish*

Kyrie dash forth, to stopping the klaur from attacking Aria, who was defenseless.

As Kyrie ran to Aria pondering.

— 'Humaniod klaurs are the most intelligent of all klaurs their battle ability is not much, but their strategies are dangerous if caught up in.

And Aria can't fight them.

It seems like today's not a pleasant day

Wielding the guns, Kyrie shot sporadically to the klaur behind Aria.

The klaur then went on the defense using its hands as a shield to block off the attack.

The air was then filled with mana particles blocking the klaur's view.

Kyrie then arrived in front of the klaur hiding Aria behind her.

As the mana particles dissipated, Kyrie then detected the klaur's hands which it used to fend off her shots changed its shape to a shield.

Instantly she shouted.

"Aria run!"

Instantly, Aria took to heels, running away from the fight, in response to Kyrie's voice.

On Sighting, Aria ran safely, she said.

"Eve armament!"

The guns she held disappeared instantly, turning into a scythe.

Afterwards, she shifted her gaze towards the klaur—it already had her in its strike zone.

But before she could react, the klaur threw a huge punch to her from below, sending her flying through the air.

She then grazed the snow before landing on a tree, and said.

"It hurts".

The klaurs then moved forth towards where she landed.

It shocked as it noticed she wasn't there.

She then appeared behind him, taking a deep breath before she said.

"5th style, ascending moon".

The scythe then glowing with green mana imbued on its blade.

*Swoosh*

The sound of the scythe as it created a circular slash at the klaur's head, was heard.

*Thud*

The klaur then dropped to its knees, before finally its decapitated head fell down on the snow.

*sigh*

Kyrie then out a sigh before falling down knees first on the snow.

Watching the klaur turn to black particles, she recalled the time the klaurs punched her, saying to herself.

***

'That was dangerous, if I didn't equip the new combat suit, I would have been a goner'.

It looks like I have to thank Aiya for it.

Hmmph... I would give her a head pat when I get back.

***

Kyrie stood up, gazing at the place.

Recalling all her encounter from Aria to the klaurs, she pondered.

***

'Klaur... But, how comes a humanoid klaur is around this area? That's not something I always encounter... Does it have something to do with the light from before... If so, why?'

***

— More to the point, where is Aria?

Kyrie thought as she searched for Aria

"Aria!"

She shouted out, waiting for her response.

Aria then came out of hiding from behind the tree.

"So there you were,

Answer so I could know you're OK".

From Aria's point of view, Kyrie was strong enough to go toe to toe with the commander, as she then recalled all the battles she faced.

***

'All this while, I imagined, if I hide behind someone, I would always get through, but there are many obstacles I have to face no matter what, and what I have faced, as taught me that—I'm always a burden—If I want to go through things, I have to face them alone.

So this time, I would get stronger to avoid being a burden, and walk by Blu's side —no, I have to get stronger'.

***

Aria then opened her mouth to talk.

"Uhmm...".

Kyrie noticed her and asked.

"What?"

Aria then clenched her fist with determination, as she said.

"Could you teach me how to fight?"

Astonished by the question Aria asked, she paused for a while before saying.

"Hmm... Well I mostly don't train people".

Kyrie then peeked at Aria, she observing her reaction, she was down, Kyrie continued saying.

"But... you have the look of someone who has gone through a lot and is ready to face all obstacles, so I would train you".

Overjoyed by her declaration, Aria couldn't hide her excitement as she smiled, she said.

"Thank you".

Kyrie's expression changed as she responded.

"But, you would have to know, my training is not the normal training you would get".

Aria ignored her mien as the only thing on her mind was training, she said.

"Yes".
