CHAPTER 31: TO THE BASE (3)

CHAPTER 31: TO THE BASE (3)

In the middle of nowhere, at night.

It snowing, as Aria held onto logs of wood she had cut from the dead trees.

Afterwards, she then strolled for a few minutes, making small short sounds as she walked.

Aria then paused for a while and glazed into the sky, as there were two moons—one smaller than the other.

*Huff*

With a heavy breath, she said.

"It's cold".

*Howl*

The sound of wolves could be heard signaling their packs.

Aria then continued to strode down.

On arrival, Kyrie lazing around the fireplace as she watched Aria cradling onto logs of wood.

She dropped off the wood next to the fireplace, as she then said annoyingly.

"Hah... Why did I have to pick up branches from afar merely to light up a fire?"

Kyrie, who was laying on the warm comfort of animal fur, said.

"Huh! If you ask me why?"

"It would be because you are my apprentice now".

Aria responded.

"Hahh...".

Kyrie then stopped Aria, as she said.

"If I remember clearly you were the one who asked to be my apprentice so".

"And master's orders orders are absolute".

— This woman is hopeless.

Why did I ask to be her apprentice?

Aria pondered as she stared at Kyrie.

Kyrie said while being glared by Aria

"Well, it's not like you're going to do it throughout the journey, cause tomorrow we're going to arrive at the base, so just think of it as extras".

— Extras! Are you kidding me?

You're simply training me to do things for you.

She said after hearing Kyrie's statement.

Kria then stood up and said.

"Now that we have wood, it's time to make a hot bath".

Aria was befuddled. How is she going to make a hot bath in this snow place? So she asked

"Hot bath?"

Kyrie replied with a smile.

"Yes, to relieve a day's worth of stress, you need a hot bath"

Kyrie then brought out Eve.

Eve, open utilities.

Tweet, tweet

A giant tub then appeared, as Eve disappeared with a blue glow.

Kyrie then glanced at Aria, saying

"Behold! The portable bath".

As Kyrie talked, Aria was still as she knew nothing about a portable bath.

— This is the part you are supposed to be surprised.

She thought, and then turned away with a gloomy face.

Kyrie then picked up the wood, placing it underneath a fire place next to the tub.

She then lit the wood up as the fire burned brightly. Aria stood watching Kyrie's every move in wonder of what she would do now.

She then placed water in the bath.

After a few minutes, Kyrie then said.

"The bath is ready".

"Let's wash ourselves before entering".

Later on, after washing themselves, Kyrie then entered the bath, saying

"Hahhh... That feels good".

Aria then placed her foot first, as she was stunned by the feeling of the hot bath, she then entered with a blithe face.

Kyrie then observed her reaction and said.

"How's the bath Aria".

She replied.

"It feels good".

Delighted by Aria's response, she said.

"Right, hot baths are the best".

Thereafter, the atmosphere went heavy, as there was nothing else to say as they both gazed away, waiting for the other to talk.

Aria then relieved the air as she asked Kyrie.

"Where did you learn to fight?"

Kyrie then replied, after a short pause.

"Well, if you ask me where? I learned most of them from my grandpa".

She then responded on reflex

"Huh!"

Kyrie continued on, saying.

"Yeah, grandpa was the best, I grew up with him".

Confused by her statement, Aria asked.

Where is he now?

Kyrie paused for a while, smiled and said.

"His dead".

Out of respect, she said.

"Sorry for making you remember something unpleasant".

Kyrie replied.

"It's okay, don't worry about it, you can ask me".

Aria then bluntly asked.

"What about your parents?"

Kyrie replied.

"Well, I never got to see my parents after 5.

They just left suddenly, leaving me with grandpa.

Every time, I asked grandpa about them, he always said they are dead.

But, I feel like they're alive.

Now that I am about 16 years old, I barely remember their face

So I ignored finding them and moved on with my life".

Kyrie then glanced at Aria as she witnessed her silent, she then said.

"Hah... It seems like I am boring you with my story".

Aria waved her hands shortly while saying.

"No!, no!!"

Kyrie responded with a smile.

"OK, I presumed my story was boring you".

Aria then pondered.

— Well, growing up I never had a family, so I think I understand her.

The atmosphere then fell heavy again.

Kyrie this time undertook to lighten the mood, as she asked.

"What about Blu?"

Aria paused before she said, thinking back about all her interactions with Blu.

"Well, Blu is more like family to me".

"Back at home, He always came up with the craziest ideas, even though they fail. He always smiled back at us, he was always confident as he struggled to put up front saying he would be the one to protect us. It was stupid of him, but I can't help but like that part of him, as he always makes me want to do the same too".

Afterwards, Aria's face brightened

On sighting this, Kyrie said.

"Huh! It seems like you guys are more than just family".

She then blushed, saying.

"Haaahhh, that's not true, he's family to me, family".

Kyrie smiled as she watched Aria's expression, saying.

"OK, I get that".

After a while, she then said.

"Well, why don't you wash him up before the water cools down".

Kyrie then passed a small box to Aria, saying.

"The password is 'Tweet',

Make sure you wash him well".

She then caught the box, saying.

"Ok".

— Well, this is not the first time I am washing him, so I am used to it.

She thought as her face brightened.

Aria then opened it as Blu appeared, she wrapped him with a towel.

Afterwards, she finished washing Blu.

Kyrie then returned to sleep.

As she returned him back, she whispered into his ears.

"Good night".

Meanwhile, back at Eliana kingdom.

{Medical center}

Standing beside the door was.

Hi, it's Landol again, as you all know, I am just a regular side character, always getting caught up in the regular characters work.

Well, today I am visiting the commander, who is in the medical center.

Landol then opened the door slightly, but paused as he heard the professor.

The professor was beside the commander as he sat in a chair.

Holding a book on this hands, he said.

"Hmm... A God.

An incomplete seal,

God-Level mana,

Ability to see through things, Divine eyes.

Power to transcend dimensions, Mystic arts.

I don't know what you were expecting fighting a God in a duel.

But, because of you I was able to deduce something from him.

And that is He is still a human in the body.

So it would be easy to catch him.

You have my thanks".

Landol was sweating on hearing this, as he pondered.

— What?

It seems like I just heard something I wasn't supposed to hear. I better get away before I get caught eavesdropping.

*Slam*

The sound of the door closing filled the air.

On noticing this, the professor said.

Who's there?

Landol then hide beside the door.

— Ahhh... Worst timing, why did the door make a loud sound on closing?

He said as his heart started beating.

*Ba-dump*

*Thud*

*Thud*

The professor then slowly stepped towards the door.

*meow*

Landol then made a cat sound.

The professor then heard it and said.

"Ohh... Maybe it was a stray cat making its way here".

He then strode back to his seat, and picked his book.

Landol then ran away, pondering.

— Ahh... Thank goodness I knew how to imitate cats or else I would have being a goner.
