Mei looked up at him, not believing what she had just heard,
"I'm sorry I think I heard you wrong, what did you say?"
Rolling his eyes, Jian pushed himself off the desk, walking over the window, "I said, You sure are desperate to get in my bed."
"Dude, what's with you and your mindless accusations? Can't you act normal for once?"
Her breath was heavy as she could feel her temper rise within her, she tried calming down, "Think twice before you spout such nonsense."
"Oh, so you did not wake up on my bed this morning?" He mocked in reply.
"I don't understand what you mean."
Turning his back to her, he placed his hand on the glass, staring outside as he snarled, "Why not gather your drunken thoughts and try remembering anything?"
//
"Let me show you to the guest bedroom," Ai guided Mei through the stairs and corridor, "I'll get you some clothes and if you need something, just knock on the door next to you, that's Jian's room."
She stopped in front of a light red door and opened it, walking back while calling out to her, "I will be right back with something comfortable for you."
Mei stepped in and let out an "Oooh" while looking at the ceiling.
Pistachio green and cream paint enveloped the room, complementing each other perfectly as the colors overlapped in swirls.
The bed had a glossy brown sheet on it with light golden pillows laying on the bed frame, asking to be wrapped in.
Mei ran her hands over the soft blanket and slipped under them, letting out a loud sigh.
She kicked off her shoes and rolled herself in, taking a whiff of the slight lavender fragrance the bed gave.
When Ai came back, she found Mei with her eyes closed, and softly spoke out, "I'm keeping the clothes here sweetheart, you can wear them whenever you want."
She replied with a "Hmmm" after Ai smiled gently and left the room.
Falling in a deep slumber, Mei ended up waking in the middle of the night, feeling a strong urge to go to the bathroom.
She stumbled out of the bed, her eyes barely open, she tried finding her way through the dark as she opened a door and wandered into what she remembered being the bathroom.
Blinking her eyes in the dark, Mei tried thinking about her way back and walked in a room through what she thought was a red door.
"This dress is so stuffy," mumbling out, she let the straps slip down her shoulders, crawling on top of the bed, she pulled the gown from her feet and threw it on the ground.
Yawning, she snatched the sheets and tugged on them when she felt it being stuck on something. She yanked the blanket, hearing a soft groan as she turned back and squinted to see Jian looking at her, confused.
"What the hell? What do you think you are doing?" He frowned, clucking his tongue, he sat up.
"Shushh, just let me sleep," She grumbled, wrapping herself in the blanket, she laid her head on the pillow.
Trying to push her off the bed, he hissed, "Get out. Now."
Mei grabbed his hand, shivering, "I feel cold."
Jian touched her freezing hands as he sighed, rubbing his forehead and getting up, "You should have worn something at least."
He picked up a shirt that was lying on the sofa, throwing it on her face.
"Here."
Blubbering out some incoherent words, she tossed the shirt to the side,
"I want to sleep. Go away."
Glaring at her, Jian snapped, "Are you serious? How drunk are you?", having taken the shirt from the floor, he continued, "Can't f##king believe I have to do this sh#t for a grown woman."
He lifted Mei's arms up, putting the shirt on her while she continued to whine and push him off, "Why are you so obsessed with me and this shirt? Man just let me sleeeeeep!"
Finally getting the shirt on her, Jian moved her to the side, exhausted, "Go to f##king sleep now."
"Night night," she said, snuggling within the blanket.
Taking a deep breath, he laid down, his back to Mei, he nodded goodnight.
Not even a minute passed when he felt her arms around his back, trying to close around his chest.
"For f##ks sake, what do you want now?" He shouted out, turning to face her.
All his anger dissipating after seeing Mei, peacefully sleeping with her arms out, reaching for his shirt.
His tension fading out, he muttered tiredly, "Whatever, let's just go to sleep."
"Idiot."
//
"Did I accidentally walked in your room instead? No way, I wasn't that drunk." Mei questioned, her mind spinning around her hazy memories from the previous night.
"You should try drinking less, not only did you snuck onto my bed, you weren't even dressed." He remarked with a mocking smile.
"What?"
"Be glad that it was me and not someone else. Who knows if someone with less self-control would have ended up taking advantage of such a dumb woman?" He sneered making Mei shudder from the implication.
"Are you always this irritating? ," She said, smiling gently in sarcasm.
"Not like I would have minded giving it a try," He scoffed, continuing to berate her, "I mean, who would give up on such a pretty face?"
Tilting his head to the side as he slowly lifted her chin, harshly grazing his thumb on her bottom lip.
Slapping his hand away, Mei fumed in anger, "Touch me again and I will break those lanky fingers into two."
"Everything okay in here?" Chen asked, opening the door with Ai and Feng in the back.
"Oh ya don't worry, just resolving a misunderstanding since this was all so sudden," Jian responded, stepping in front of Mei while she tried to cool down.
"Now now, be nice to her Jian. Don't you go bullying her around too much like you used to. You two are adults now," Ai prattled, softly smacking her son on the head.
"If that's over, shall we get down to business then?" Feng inquired them.
Mei nodded at her father, trying to awkwardly smile, her arms on her back, she pinched herself to stay calm.
"Ah yes, what we were here for. Now kids, let's settle the details for your marriage."
