What Money Can Buy

My first stop when leaving the school was the inn Jacob and I stayed in before his acceptance into the school as a student. I needed information, and inns were usually a good place to obtain it, as they would need to cater to many guests from out of town.

I approached the front entrance, feeling a little nervous. My status had changed, but I was still a beast-kin. Which of my identities would carry more weight in their eyes? The doorman noticed my ears first and opened his mouth to chase me away. Then his gaze took in my robe. He closed his mouth, nodded at me, and opened the door. I faced a similar reaction from the receptionist.

"How may I help you?" He said respectfully.

My eyebrows threatened to climb to the top of my head, but I forcefully kept them down.

"Do you know of any reliable long-distance courier service I can hire to send a letter?" I asked.

"Of course!"
