I hesitated a little and thought it through. Did I want to go and possibly be harassed by them? Or should I refuse straight on and not put myself in that situation. I made my decision.
I stood up, put my pulled-out chair back in its original place, and looked up towards the guy. Who I know noticed to be very handsome. With white-blond hair that looks well kept. I can't see clearly but it looks like he has blueish-green eyes. He has a narrow face, and looking at his build he looks like a stick, that's how lanky he is.
"Before we go, I'll introduce myself. *pause* I'm Finley and I sit in front of you."
"Nice to meet you, I would introduce myself but you should know my name unless you have memory loss" *pause as if thinking about what he just said* "uh, wait... was that rude? I didn't mean to come off like that..." *internal panic mode on*
He starts mumbling to himself, "should I have said my name after nice to meet you? But wouldn't that be awkward since I already introduced myself already, at the beginning of class? Though some people do have memory loss so I might have to repeat myself multiple times, ok, mental note, say my name after nice to meet you."
"Uhm usually in that situation, especially if I was in your position I would have just repeated my name, and if the other person remembered they would just say, yeah... I remember." *pause "and then you'd just continue where you left off," Finley said.
I nod my head in understanding. And decide to write this new info down because most likely I'll get distracted and forget.
"Are you writing down what I said?" I feel a slight shift in the air beside me. I glance out of the corner of my eye to see him leaning towards me slightly looking over my shoulder. "Uh... If I don't write it down now, I'm gonna forget," I said slowly to make sure that I don't say anything wrong again.
"Ok, I'm done, let's go". I look up towards him and motion with my eyes for him to lead the way.
He nods his head, turns around, and heads out of the classroom. I follow him out of the classroom to find him already waiting for me at the end of the hallway.
Internal monologue:
Ok, that's creepy. It's only been like 3 seconds and he's already at the end of the hallway. What?? How? I'm so confuzzled, I hurry down the long creepy old hallway to where he stands and he continues on. We approach the staircase and start climbing upwards. We end up only going up one level or stairs before we get out and go through another eerie dark hallway.
Finley stops ahead of me and slightly turns his head to say, "the commons is right next to the library and we usually have 40 minutes for tea time". I just look on in awkwardness, what am I supposed to say to this?
"Oh, that's great," you can hear the enthusiasm in my voice. He looks at me weirdly, and I realize that I probably shouldn't have said that. "Was that a lita... licora... rhe... ah scrap that, was that one of those questions that didn't need an answer?" *pause*
"Uh never mind, you don't have to answer that."
Internal monologue:
Dang it, I messed it up again. I don't know, I feel like if I go in there, I'm going to be
just going to get judged. Especially in the current state, I'm in. I wish I could go back in time and bash my former self for procrastinating because right now I'm struggling with pronunciation and keeping up with my classmates. I can't pronounce any words that start with R because in the Japanese alphabet there is no sound for R. The closest sounding letter we have to R is similar to the English letter L. So often I mix them up.
"You said the commons is right next to the Library right?" I looked towards him. "I think, I'm gonna....
"Hey, what ya guys doing just standing there?" Says a red-head, brown-eyed lanky kid around my age.
Before I could answer, he grabbed my arm and dragged me inside.
