Life.

5months later.

5 months have passed since Lena started adventuring she has already gotten used to how the system works. She has just finished her share for today and is on her way to report in at the guild. She now fights for herself using the sword she was given by kokou right before leaving her home, a bland yet sharp sword. She enters the capital and looks around just to find the all similar looking place to her. People moving around with all types of intentions from those are trading to those who are just having a walk with their families and loved ones. She has already parted with her party members so she's taking her time going to the adventurer's guild. She stumbles around town with no exact motive other than moving.

After a couple of minutes she finally enters the adventurer's guild just to be greeted by many of those inside. During her time here she had made a name for herself, she was known among the lower ranked adventurer's as she was constantly joining quest parties or hosting them herself. Since many guilds do end up buying the lower ranked quests finding one for a beginner without a guild is quite hard especially if they do not have the time to waste. Lena who is someone with time on her hands would basically camp the board until a quest arrives which she claims instantly and host a party. Many lower rankers want to get on her good side so she is quite well treated among adventurer's. She's also known for her quick growth jump from wooden to silver it isn't the fastest ever but she is phenomenal compared to how long some of the wooden have been here. She reaches the receptionist's desk just to be greeted by the good ol' enthusiastic receptionist.

"Lena! Welcome back! how can I help you today?" the enthusiastic looking mess says. Her hair is all around messed up, her cloth look terrible and her face looks like it hasn't slept in days.

"What's wrong miss receptionist? has something happened?" Lena asked worried about the usually over the top receptionist.

"Huh? What do you mean Lena?" the receptionist asks Lena while tilting her head.

"Just look at you, what happened? why are you such a mess?" Lena replies to the question.

"Oh this. Hahahahahahaha, you don't have to worry about anything Lena its just the world is getting pretty hectic, you know?" the receptionist says.

"What? what's happening?" Lena concerned by her reply asks.

"*sigh* I guess I can tell you since it's gonna get announced shortly anyways. You see Lena what is the one thing that threatens humans now?"

"monsters?"

"correct, and how rules them?"

"the demon king."

"many points to you Lena, now tell me what if that demon king would just up right disappear."

"WHAT?!" Lena screams at the shocking revelation

"SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! lower you voice I'm telling you this early you know!"

"s-sorry... but what do you mean disappear? is he dead?"

"no he surely isn't dead if that was the case the middle land wouldn't have still been engulfed in his aura, but he Isn't in his land anymore. He has finally moved from his safe house for god knows why. He has never done this before even during the multiple joint attacks sent towards him. This has left his army in confusion. many countries close to the middle land are getting rampaged by monsters and us as the adventurer's guild have to continuously research and understand what's happening and where its happening. we've received many reports for backup and such, but not much of the adventurer's here can really compete out there. even the top 10s here are considered weak outside of this country, well junas being an exception, but we need him here for if anything happens." the receptionist said in an out of character almost depressed tone.

"So what are you saying we are basically dead now?" Lena says unknowing of what to think of the situation.

"well we shouldn't really be in danger for the moment. his army was mostly being controlled near the middle land. The monsters out here have always been a bit independent so the demon king's disappearance shouldn't matter to them, they are probably not gonna even notice." the receptionist gave a quick reply.

"and what about the demon lord? is he gonna ever come back? or even worse what if he left to expand his land?" Lena asked in a worry.

The receptionist sighs heavily. "I'm sorry Lena but I really have no idea. This is why we are all over the place trying to find the slightest hint we can."

"I guess we will just have to live with it. So anyway, the report yes." Lena handed in her report.

"Thank you! I will make sure to review it intently!" the receptionist said with her usual enthusiastic over the top tone.

Lena grinned at her sudden jump in mood and left.

The next day.

Lena walks around in the adventurer's guild recruitment section. it's where guilds recruit new adventurers into their guild. She has finally decided its about time she joined one. She already has a guild in mind one that she had heard plenty about. One that is known for their carefree rules that are basically (just do your job) which makes many strong adventurers join for a more carefree life. She walks for a bit until she finally finds their stand, but.... its empty and only has the name of the guild on it. She walks towards it to find a stack of papers and ink.

"they really are carefree" Lena said as she filled in one of the papers.

After filling the paper she went to the adventurer's receptionist desk to submit it in.

"Hello! How can I help you today?" the enthusiastic worse looking mess asked.

"did u get worse by any chance?" lena asked.

"hahaha... please just dismiss it"

"Here." lena said as she handed in the forum.

"Oooo finally leaving the lone wolf life behind huh?" the receptionist said.

"you know this is slowly becoming like talking with a friend." Lena said

"Come on now Lena, there aren't many lady adventurers and most of them just end up leaving shortly after starting, gotta enjoy what you have you know?" the receptionist said as if talking with a friend.

Lena just sighs.

"Oh wouldn't have thought you would join this guild out of them all. weird choice but I guess its up to you in the end." the receptionist shrugs it of which makes Lena question how deep their "friendship" is.
