Chapter 24: Old Man Still Got It
Orion opened his eyes and turned his head. He saw Laela slumbering peacefully in front of him. He ran his hands through her long brown locks. She stirred, her eyes opening a little. She closed them once she saw him and slept once more. He breathed in, brushing her hair off to the side, and smiled. He turned to his side and stood, stretching. He grabbed a shirt, wore it, and left the room to go to the kitchen.
He rummaged through the cupboards and took a pan. He brought it to the stove and snapped his fingers. A magical flame hummed and he set the pan there. He turned and looked for ingredients as the piece of metal slowly heated.
He could see the light peek through their curtains. He heard the birds chirping in the distance and the rustling of leaves outside.
