Fifty

Ash and Charlie walked down the hall of the Mage’s Union courthouse Ash using crutches to get around. The large halls of the courthouse buzzed with chattering. Even without being a Red anyone could feel the mix of emotions in the air, the strongest being anticipation. Finally, Serena Briar would die for her crimes. Her reign of terror would come to an end, no more child sacrifices.

If only there wasn’t irreparable damage she would leave behind.

“This way.” Charlie said opening a door.

Ash hobbled in and they took their seats on a balcony. The court room was round with a flat back wall where seven seats covered in colored cloth sat overlooking the middle of the room behind a long mahogany desk.
