The Swarm

Zac left Mark, he knew that the kid was too tired and would not be able to continue anymore,

Seeing that Zac was free, Andrew came and reported the loot,

"A total of 12 Frenzied Rats, 3 Lv. 1, 7 Lv. 2 and 2 Lv. 3, the drops are decent, 3 Frenzied Bracers, 4 Frenzied staff, 1 pair of Frenzied gloves, 1 pair of Frenzied boots, and 67 bronze coins"

"Xander gets 2 Frenzied Bracers and a pair of boots, you take the gloves and give the staffs to the Mages. I'll keep the rest in my storage ring"

The Mages were still using starter staffs, he had given the staffs which had dropped before to the Healers and Summoners as he wanted to nurture them, Healers and Summoners were even rarer than Mages in the later stages.

With this his entire group was equipped with at least one Common Equipment, their strength had increased again.

Xander and Andrew had even levered up and reached Lv.3, he had them reach 20 points in Strength and Intelligence respectively,

Xander gained an Active skill called Consecutive Strike,

Consecutive strike: When activated the next three strikes would have 110%, 150%, and 200% Attack Power.

Type: Active Skill

Requirements: Warrior

Duration: 10 seconds

Cooldown: 1 minute

Zac knew someone from his previous life who had this skill, he was pretty famous in the later stages.

Andrew gained a Passive skill called, Wizard

Wizard: All spells will have 10% more effectiveness.

Type: Passive Skill

Requirements: Mage

Duration: -

Cooldown: -

Zac was really surprised this time, Wizard was popular in his previous life. Every Mage who had it would be sought after by all the guilds.

Zac secretly decided to treat Andrew a bit better in the future so that he would remain on his side.

There was nothing else noteworthy, so he had someone call Mark,

Mark had recovered a bit from his fatigue, when he arrived in front of Zac he had a look of admiration on his face.

Zac looked at Mark and asked him directly,

"Are there any more survivors? I would like you to lead me to them"

Mark hesitated for a bit, and then carefully spoke,

"Most of the students with me were killed by those damned Rats, but a few did manage to survive and said that they would head to the Cafeteria to look for food, they thought that food would become scarce from now on, so they wanted to stock up."

Hearing this, Zac shook his head, the Cafeteria was one of the most dangerous places right now. Other than that, people would soon find out that the meat of the mutated beast was actually good for health and prolonged consumption even strengthened your body. Food would never be scarce, it would just take some time to settle.

Rather than the Cafeteria, he wanted to head towards the Gymnasium, there was a special monster there that he needed to kill, its drop would be pretty useful.

Zac took his time and finally told the group his decision,

"Let's not head to the Cafeteria, we should head to the Gymnasium, I have a feeling that most of the survivors would choose to head to that place."

The group had no objections, Mark also thought it made sense so he had no objections.

Soon, they made their way towards the Gymnasium,

Zac took the lead and made Xander take the rear, the two summoned beasts were on both sides, completely protecting the group.

Mark was fascinated by the equipment of the group, after making some small talk with the healers he found out that, they were equipment that dropped from the Frenzied Rats.

He also got a general idea about the group, he could not wait to contribute and get his own piece of equipment.

Zac and the group left piles of corpses on their way, Mark also made his first kill and got a Grey-Common dagger,

The fight was pretty easy, he had slashed the neck of the Lv. 1 Frenzied Rat in a swift strike, the advice he received from Zac was really helpful.

After a few more kills, Mark had leveled up to Lv. 1.

He earnestly asked Zac for advice on how to distribute his points.

Zac shook his head,

"You should think over this on your own but since you asked it would be better to focus on Agility followed by Strength."

Mark listened carefully and decided to distribute, 2 points to Agility and 1 point to Strength.

Now his Agility was 17, and he felt he could move even faster. It was a magical feeling.

Halfway on the way to the Gymnasium,

Zac had the group halt and looked at the sky and frowned,

There was a black mass that was heading towards them at rapid speed,

He immediately ordered the group to run to the nearest building,

"Take cover!"

Zac urged the group to run while he followed behind closely,

The black mass changed directions and was quickly closing in on the group.

'Damn it! It's a Mosquito Swarm, just my luck!'

Zac knew that facing the swarm head-on was suicide, the only way to survive was to kill the Mosquito Queen, But the Queen was protected all the time and on top of that it was stronger than the Mutated Dragonfly. It was going to take some time to defeat it.

Zac went through his memories of his previous life and looked for its weakness,

'That's it, Fire!'

Zac acted immediately,

"Harry, the Mosquitos are afraid of Fire, summon the Flame Ant!"

Harry did not hesitate and stopped running, he knew that he had to act quickly and Summoned the Flame Ant,

His Staff lit up with golden light and he pointed it forward while chanting the summoning spell,

Soon, the Flame Ant which was wrapped in burning red flames appeared in front of everyone. It was much bigger than before, and the heat was also considerably increased,

[Flame Ant]
