Chapter 6- A Supernatural Home

He had me at hello. Those big bold eyes. His hair flew down in perfect strands, not even one out of place. Everything about him was perfect and when I looked at him it felt like I was in a trance. He approached me from across the room. When he got to me he kissed me on the cheek. He took me into a room and closed the door. When he walked up to me this time it wasn't what I expected at all. He grabbed my throat choking me. I could feel my feet lift off the ground. A man came in. He was tall and scary.

"Where is it?" He asked me. "Where's what?" I choked out. "The ring! Where's the damn ring?" I didn't understand.

"She's useless, just kill her and be done with it." He held up a knife and flung it at me. I jerked up taking in a big breath. Chance was at my side in a flash.

"What is it? Are you alright?" As soon as I calmed down I spoke. "I'm fine. Just had a bad dream that's all."

"What about?" He asked me. I didn't think it was important but I told him anyway.

"I was in a strange room. There were these two guys and one was choking me while the other... well he asked me a weird question." I paused. "He asked me where the ring was." He looked shocked. His mouth dropped and his eyes were wide open.

"Chance?"

"Are you sure that's what he said?"

"Yeah positive."

"It is you." Chance got to his feet faster then I could speak. "What? What is that suppose to mean?" I was so confused.

"We need to go, that's what it means." He grabbed my arm and pulled me. "It's a long drive back to the house." We walked through a tunnel, and came to nothing but more water.

"How do we get out?"

"You're not going to like it, but we have to swim." He got in the water and pulled me in with him. "Take a deep breath. Don't let go of my hand." He tried to move but I was paralyzed. He grabbed my shoulders.

"Trust me, I won't leave you this time." I nodded, took a breath and dove under. Chance held my hand tight as we swam together. Finally, my head popped above water and I breathed in fresh air. I climbed out and we were back out in front of the fountain. We walked a ways in silence, until we came to a truck parked in an ally. He opened the door for me and I got in. Chance got in the driver's seat and started the engine. I looked at him wanting some answers. He didn't even so much as glance at me. I wanted to ask him what he knew about the ring in my dream. He had to know something by the reaction he gave me when I told him my dream.

I must have fallen asleep because next thing I knew I was being shaken awake. When the truck stopped we got out and started walking a few blocks. I've never been through this town. Didn't even know what town it was, so I had no idea where we were. We walked down a road that was so quiet. No children playing, and not even cars going by. No wonder, it was a dead end road. When we got to the end there was a big house. It was huge. It had 3 stories and arch pillars in the front.

"This is your house?" I asked staring at it.

"Well, not mine exactly. We all live here."

"I've never seen anything like it." I said in amusement. He chuckled.

"Glad you like it." We walked up the driveway. When he opened the door I took a step inside.

To my right there was a huge spiral staircase that looped up to the next floor that had a balcony that looked down. To my left was a living room with an L shaped couch and a huge 80 inch flat screen TV on the wall. From the living room was a arch way that leads into a big kitchen. In the kitchen was an island with bar stools plus a dining room table. The floor was marble. Coming off the kitchen was a big white bathroom with double sinks. Up the stairs was the balcony and all the rooms and maybe another bathroom but I didn't really search the place.

We walked into a room that I didn't notice before. It was quite empty except for a book shelf and weapons in the corner. "This is where we train." He said. "Let's wait in the living room." As we were walking back to the living room we ran into someone.

"Great you brought a girl back to the house with you... that's a first." She said with a grin. "Caroline, this is the girl I told you guys about."

"Oh yeah, I forgot about that." Then she left.

"Don't let her get to you."

"Well thanks." I smiled. Chance smiled back. We sat down on the couch. A boy walked in. He had dark hair almost black and he was almost as tall as Chance. Chance stood up.

"This is Josh. Josh this is..." He cut him off.

"Holy shit, a girl! Is this the one?" He asked Chance. He gave a slight nod.

"Can someone please tell me whats going on?" The one named Josh approached me, and held out his hand for a shake. "Hi, I'm Josh, nice to meet you." Then he turns to Chance and smirks. "You didn't tell me she was so pretty." He turns back to me and winks. Now I'm frustrated.

"Please tell me whats going on." I looked to Chance once again for answers.

"Who am I? What are you guys, and what is this about a ring, cause you got real weird Chance after I mentioned my nightmare to you!" Josh's eyes widened.

"Nightmare? Ring?" His eyes went from mine to Chance. "You didn't tell me about..." Chance pushing Josh out the door said, "Yeah yeah yeah I know. There's a lot I didn't tell you. Just go get Reilly please." And shoved him out the rest of the way. He came back a minute later with a man. Chance stood up and walked over to them. "Reilly, thank the lord, I did what you said and I brought her back here in one piece." Reilly spoke. One piece? "I heard you had an encounter with a Griffin." Chance laughed. "Yes we did."

"Good to know you made it out okay." Reilly patted Chance on the shoulder and walked over and stood in front of me. I stood up.

"I'm Reilly, the head master of this house and I bet you have a ton of questions for me." He smiled. Reilly was quite older, mid thirdies I assumed. He was tall, dark hair, good looking just like Chance and Josh were. Are all the men in this house good looking? I thought.

"You have no idea." I said smiling back. We sat back down on the couch.

"You may begin." He said with a hand gesture. I spoke without knowing how to word the question without it sounding weird. I looked at Chance.

"So what exactly are you?" It was silent like nobody wanted to tell me anything. It was Josh that spoke.

"We're called Warriors. A hunter trained to kill the supernatural and protect the one's who don't pose a threat."

"So you don't have wings. The girl I saw in the alley had wings." "Not all supernatural are warriors. We are our own species I guess you could say. The girl you saw that night was a fallen angel. She poses no threat to the human race, which is why she was left unharmed." Chance was speaking this time. "But how do you know they aren't going to turn like, bad?" I asked.

"We don't, but that's why we take them out. Us on the other hand have these tattoos we get when we turn 18, after we finish our training. It has magical properties that gives us extreme pain if we convert to evil. Normally it doesnt come to that because most of us dedicate our lives for good. The tattoos also send out like a GPS that tells our location just in case something were to happen. It signifies who we are and what we do. It's magic infused." Josh held out his wrist to show off his tattoo. I gasped and covered my mouth. It was the neon star I saw on the girl only his was green instead.

"The different colors signify what house we belong too. Ours are green." I stared at it a little longer then I should have. It was so beautiful.

"If the angel isn't a warrior, then why did she have a star tattoo?" I asked confused. All three men looked back and forth at one another almost like they were talking through their minds. "She didn't Dakota." Chance said. Great so I am crazy. "Angels were humans once. We don't recruit other supernatural beings. Other branches of warriors especially. She wasn't one of us." Said Reilly.

"Great so I'm seeing things that really aren't there now?" I sat back in the couch stressed.

"No you're not. You did see the star tattoo. Just not on her." Chance pulled up his sleeve and there it was. The beautiful green star.

"But what does any of this have to do with me?" I said. It was Reilly that spoke.

"You're parents were Warriors. I knew them." He said.

"You're mother was my partner in training."

"Okay so my parents were Warriors. What about the ring?" I said in anger from not knowing any of this. Everybody looked at each other and then at me. Josh spoke.

"Reilly I think it's time for the story."
