CHAPTER 9: Damien's Vision

"Please take a seat both of you. This will be an exciting case" he said as he flashed a smirk

Draco and I sat on the chairs in front of his desk with a puzzled expression due to his sudden change of attitude. He stared at us with a thrilled look on his face, still smiling which made his eyes disappear.

"So I believe the young miss is Draco and you, the young man is Emma" he then clarified after a while of silence.

Draco and I looked at each other with a confused look on our faces and replied "That's right"

'Wait. How did he know our names?' I questioned myself as I stared at him with knitted brows

"It's been such a long time since I came across such a supernatural manifestation!" He cried out, leaning back on the chair with a delighted expression.

He then sat right back up and smiled with glee, "I believe I haven't introduced myself, I'm Damien. I'm a real psychic who also works as a supernatural investigator. I can see certain events in the future, you know just a couple of visions" he then proudly declared openly as he put his right hand on his chest as he was introducing.

"My ability will only work when I physically touch a person; just like how you grabbed my hands earlier. From what I saw in my vision, both of you have exchanged bodies," he added as he looked at us with a smug plastered on his face.

"I see.." I replied, gaping my mouth while staring at him in amazement at the information he's spitting out without holding back. See the future!? How can such a person exist?

Upon hearing this, Draco was also dumbfounded seeing his eyes slightly widened but still maintaining his blank expression. Now he must be realizing that he is a real psychic and not an impostor. I knew it! I just know that he is a real seer. Can't wait to rub this on Draco's face later.

"Any questions?" he asked as if everything he just said was just a normal thing. I'm still speechless, that's why I remained silent still fully processing everything he said.

Draco then cleared his throat, covering his mouth with his fist. Sweat was seen on this temple as he tried putting up an unimpressed act, "If you can see the future, then you must know how to get us back to normal" he said with a serious look as stared at him.

"Of course. That is what I'm here for" Damien answered with a broad smile as he pulled out an old-looking book from his drawer. He quickly flipped through the pages, stopping halfway as he put the book on the desk turning it upside down for us to see

"The phenomenon of exchanging bodies was first recorded centuries ago. People believed that it was cast by sorcerers or unearthly beings, But unlike a hundred years ago, wizards and witches today are almost terminated...or maybe they just went into hiding" he added

"So are you guessing that a sorcerer did this to us?" Draco cut him off with a question as he raised his brow

"Not exactly. So anyway, tell me when did this manifestation begin to come to be?" he curiously asked as put his arms on the desk and he locked his hands.

I then started to explain, "It was a week ago, after our car accident. When we woke up in the hospital we are already in each other's bodies"

"I see. Last week, the moon was very bright and strangely powerful that night. That may be the cause of this incident" he said while looking down with furrowed brows as he was seriously thinking.

"How can we go back? You know how to solve this right?" I impatiently asked, leaning in with anticipation.

Damien looked at me with a beam, "Of course. But I need to have the appropriate artifacts. Sadly, I'm too busy with my research and I don't want to waste my precious time looking for those relics" he replied as he gave a mocking sad face.

'Ah, I know where this is going..'

"So rather, both of you have to acquire those artifacts" he added as he gave a delighted smile.

'As I thought'

Hearing this, Draco immediately reacted strongly, "What?! Can you hire someone to do it instead?" he asked with an irritated look

"Naah, I work alone" Damien responds, immediately dismissing his suggestion

Draco then scoffed and turned his face away from us, "What kind of bullshit is this? You want me to stick with her the entire time?"

"Hey! It's not like I want to be with you either" I disprove back as I gave him a good glare.

How dare he. It's not like I want to spend every minute with him unlike before. I'm just tolerating him now because of this unnatural incident. He then looked at me with a stern look on his face. We both glared at each other for a while with no one backing down. On the other hand, Damien looked amused at our situation as he chuckled.

"You have to gather these things or it will be useless" Damien then stated as

"Are you fvcking kidding me? Am I supposed to believe you with that?" Draco looked at him with his stern expression and replied with a question.

Damien then shrugged, raising his shoulders and palms "Well it's really up to you if you want to go back to normal" he replied indifferently

I want to go back to normal as soon as possible. I know that Draco doesn't want me around and so do I. But the only way for us to go back to normal is to acquire the artifacts.

"What are those things?" I asked in a serious tone as I looked at him solemnly

Hearing that, he smiled in delight as he held up four fingers at me "I need you both to obtain these 4 things: The treasured coin, Ring of death, Gift of Odette, and the Actress Mirror"

"I'm sorry, what now?" I asked in a dazed look of bewilderment by the things he just listed out.

Draco looked at him suspiciously, squinting his eyes as he crossed his arms, "I don't recognize any of those things you just mention"

"Of course you don't. Only a couple of people knows about this"

"Then how are we supposed to get those artifacts?"

"That's where I came in!" Damien then suddenly stood up as he went to the shelves behind him. He scanned the shelves and grabbed the dark green book on the upper level.

He then gave the book to me and took a seat back to his chair, "This is a guide that will help you through your mission. It has everything you need to know about those relics"

I then immediately scanned the book, flipping through the old pages. Draco leaned in also trying to peek at the contents. There are drawings of different relics and creatures in this book, there are also writings of calligraphy explaining the drawings and other information. This is a very useful book.

"I almost forgot, there is something else I should tell you" Both of us turned our attention to him as he looked at us in all seriousness.

"If you both failed to return to your normal bodies —one of you will die"

'WAIT WHAT NOW!?'
