Weird, Cute Tony

"Tony! Tony!" I giggled as he stepped on my lap, and then ran away again, daring me to come follow it. "I'm coming!" I got on all fours and started to crawl. Funny enough, he knew how to play hide and seek pretty well."Don't let me get you or else..." I said, laughing. I knew all his favorite hiding spots, but sometines, he just hid so well i had to beg him to come out. "Here I am..I can see a tail." I was still crawling, not minding the trousers i was wearing. "Tony!" I called. He never fell for my tricks, or baits. And stayed in hiding no matter what. I had stacked the kitchen counter with breakable plates and bowls just the other day, and as usual, i felt too lazy to arrange them into the rack. The stack was tall, and a bit slippery. So when I entered the kitchen on all fours, looking around for tony, I Hadn't noticed my foot hitting the Open cabinet I'd placed them on, upsetting them. "Tony!" They wobbled, somehow struggling to maintain balance as i Sat directly under it, my knees starting to sore. "Tony! I'll leave without you." Suddenly a plate fell right in front of me, shattering to pieces. "How.." I looked up, only to see the entire rack descending, right where I was sitting. "No.." I mumbled. "No!" I only felt strong hands push me, so hard, I propelled backwards, my eyes shut against the sudden burst of air. Then just as soon as it started, everything went off. Like it was controlled by some switch. I opened my eyes, my heart thumping hard, and instead of the mess of plates I expected, Tony was standing there instead, on all fours, and the plates were stacked in small stacks of fours in the cabinet. I blinked. Tony seemed annoyed, especially in the way he brought his brows together, his eyes deep set, so he formed a scowl. I stood up, running to the cabinet. "I..i thought they were falling just a second ago." Tony walked away, its tail down. He was angry, but I was too confused to try comforting him. How did the plates go back like that? And how did Tony..wait..Tony saved my life. I looked around frantically, but he wasn't close, which was so unlike him. I dusted myself off and ran to the sitting room. "Hey, little man." He didn't look at me. Funny how a dog felt so much like a pouty child at this moment. I smiled to myself, and he turned to look at me, its eyes thinner, before turning away again. Okay, Tony is extremely cute, but sometimes when he acts like this, it just...its weird. I brushed my hands on the hair on his back. "Hey, sorry for being careless. Thank for saving me, too." I said, running my hand up amd down his bac. He seemed tense under me, like he was ready to attack, but also stiff. He simply didn't want to budge. "I got new and improved food for you. I bet It tastes great." I said again, no response. Not like i was expecting him to talk since, well, my only companion was a dog, but, he always gave me some sort of response. Today, he just completely ignored me. I sat with him till i got tired, and i just leaned back on the couch and closed my eyes for a quick nap. When i woke up, Tony was still beside me, but there was a blanket on me, clumsily put to cover me up. "Gosh, Tony. You're so sweet." He still didn't look at me, but I stood up to get him his food. Sometimes, he was weird, but my Tony was most times just really cute....or so I thought.

It was already midnight, and I just couldn't sleep. My phone was ringing non-stop next to me, and in as much as I just wanted to pull the phone to me and listen to his voice on the other end, I knew picking it would only make me tread slower on this heartbreak path he himself has made me walk through. And I knew I couldn't risk it. I covered my ears with my pillow, resisting the strong urge. No one told me it would be so hard fighting against your own heart, even though it's the heart itself that went ahead and let itself break like that. Tony was lying on his small bed close to mine, and I didn't realize he wasn't asleep till the phone rang for the tenth? Twentieth time, and he suddenly jumped, his eyes fierier and somehow darkerb than i've ever seen them before. I flung the pillow and sat up. "Hey. Tony. Go back to sleep, okay?" He looked up to me, just as the phone stopped ringing. "See? Its all good now. Go back to sleep." He bounded off in his usual playing manner, and the phone didn't ring again. I found some peace, in Tony's protective nature and the silence of the night, and soon gave in to the magical allure of sleep.

I have classes this morning, and I woke up, feeling like a sleep deprived monster about to drain every bit of refreshment from everyone. I sniffed, and turned, unfortunately towards the mirror and what I saw in it freaked me out too. I had dark eyes, my hair was all over the place and I looked as swollen as someone who's having an allergic reaction. I decided to simply go back to sleep and call in sick later on, because I know i would sleep through the entire lecture, effortlessly at that. The sleep did a whole lot of good, and when I woke up five hours later, freshened up, washed my hair and dressed in some comfortable clothes, I felt back to normal. I didn't realize anything was wrong, or the reason my phone had stopped ringing, till I picked it up to call in sick at school and realized there was no SIM card in it.
