The Devil’s bargain 3/3

After leaving the kid inside the Church, I apparate back to the abandoned building I used to land in the day before.

COUGH, COUGH!!

"Fuck, that was worst than I thought!" "That bastard Dumbledore, made it seem like no big deal." Dam him!!"

It takes me several minutes to get up from the floor. After teleporting twice, my body wasn't responding. With a light headache and sweat all over my face, I stumble my way outside supporting myself on the decaying walls.

The cold air helps me recover faster. finally, with a Level-headed mind again, I start planning my next move.

"Ok, by now Klaus must've found the girl already. It'll probably take him a while to get her out, though.

"Great, that'll give me the time I need to kidnap Erik and bring him back to the rendezvous point."

(I'm so glad I was smart enough to follow him home yesterday after I finish buying the fabric for the battle gear.) "Man, I'm already sick and tired of these rags." They clash badly with my handsome face!

With a chuckle, I walk the deserted streets of Odens with the bright full moon as my only witnesses.

-----------------------------------

Erik's house isn't much to brag about. The hut is small in size, half the size of the orphanage, I'm guessing. To the left side of the door, a huge window stands by itself as the only source of ventilation. Finally, the ruff is made of hay that falls all the way down to cover much of the window and door.

"Geez, this place looks as practical and uptight as Erik, himself." I shake my head in disapproval. "Then again, who am I to judge, I live in a cave with a deer after all."

(I miss Snow already.)

When I see the locked door in front of me, I want to pull my hair out. (FOR FUCK'S SAKES, why the hell can't I remember that fucking spell?) "It's all that bastard's fault, giving me only the ones I remembered.

..Sigh..

"Well, there's nothing I can do about it now but break the door, let's just hope I don't wake the sleeping Viking inside with a short temper and a very sharp sword.

(Is a good thing I have my super-strength and speed, otherwise, I don't think I could win if a fight breaks out between the two of us.)

"He's too fast for my weak spells and I can't use stronger ones without bringing the house down, let's just hope he won't wake up.

With resolve, I walk to the wooden door and with my superhuman strength, force the lock apart making a loud noise in the process.

..."BAMM!!!

"Fuck me!" I quickly push the door open and with a blur enter inside trying to get to Erik before he unleashes his wrath upon me. Sadly I was too late, the Viking was fully awake with sword in hand.

Glaring daggers at me and with absolute fury in his voice, he tells me. "You have two seconds to explain yourself, 'Friend."

I look at the savage, shirtless red-headed man, and with a bitter smile, I respond. "All in good time my friend, all in good time."

Not giving him time to react, In a flash, I'm standing right in front of him. With the back of my left hand, I knock the sword out of his grip, then I bend down and with my right fist punch the air out of him, the same way he did to Klaus the day before on the plaza.

Unlike Klaus though, Erik didn't fall down. Instead, with all the strength he could master, he made a fist with his right hand and soccer-punch me, point-blank, right to the face.

Of course, his punch didn't hurt me. I'm immortal after all, however, I was still very surprised by it. That punch was something that should've happened.

I used 1/3 of my strength on him, that alone had been enough to break down the iron door back at the guard posts dungeon. (What the heck is this guy made of?!!)

With a now broken hand, Erik looks at me with hatred and confusion. I can't help but feel bad, he was the first real friend I had made in this ancient world, but it's for his own good, he'll thank me later in life.

Ready to be done with this whole thing, I grab him by the neck, lift him off his feet and push him against the wall.

With my hands still gripping his throat, I say. "I was planning on knocking you out but I changed my mind, I think this is a good opportunity to use one of the big 3." I'll make it up to you later, I promise!"

He tries to fight back but it's no use, my strength far surpasses his. I lift my free hand and bring my index finger to his forehead. Concentrating on his mind, I force my energy into him, then I say the spell out loud.

...."IMPERIO"....

Little by little Erik stops the struggle to fight me off until finally, he's no longer moving.

I let go of him and take a step back. Looking into his eyes, I find nothing but an empty abyss, his fierce Viking glare all but gone.

The Erik I knew wasn't there anymore, standing in front of me was nothing but a mindless puppet, ready to do whatever I command him to.

Placing my hand on his shoulder I say through my teeth, "I'm sorry my friend, I promise never to do this to you, ever again." He doesn't respond instead he nods.

Very fast I begin to regret doing this to him, the guilt eating at me inside. However, there was no time to dwell on guilt or self-pity. (I'll find a way to repay him somehow. Let's hope he doesn't hold grudges.)

Pointing at him I say. "Follow me, your brother is probably almost out of the Church by now. I know I said this was a test, but honestly, I had already decided to give the Omnitrix to him. So why don't we go give him a head, he probably really need it!" The puppet nods and follows me out?

Back on the street the moon still shines brightly and the night breeze is still soothing. Because I don't get cold, I feel at ease. The same cannot be said for the shirtless redhead next to me. Even though he doesn't make a sound I can visibility see him trembling.

"Poor guy must be freezing."

"I promise I'll make all this up to you in the future." Again, he only nods.

In front of the Church once again, I can easily count 3 men guarding the entrance. (The other three must be guarding the back entrance.)

(Hmm, I'll make the puppet get rid of these three out here and hope Klaus doesn't use the back entrance for his escape.)

On that note, I unleash the beast on them.

There is only one word I can think of as I watch Erik effortlessly demolish the poor men. 'Overpower. Truly OP! "Seriously man, what is this guy made of?"

I sight as I see the last one touch the ground. (I'll need to rethink a few things. If I make him an immortal like I was planning to, I'm afraid he'll be unstoppable.) "I'm not sure how I feel about that. We don't want another Madara!"

The minute he is done he comes back stands next to me, and nods his head as if saying 'the job is done.' I nod back, and we silently make our way to the rendezvous point.

(3rd Person POP)

Half an hour ago:

Klaus holds the girl's hand tightly, as they make their way up the stars. His heart is beating a 100ml per second, he's not sure how exactly he's going to escape this place with so many guards around. Needing a distraction he starts a conversation.

"I.. uh forgot to tell you earlier, but my name is Nicklaus, what is yours?"

...Silence...

"Ok no name, got it! What about your age, how old are you?"

...Silence...

Birthplace? Once more there is no response from the girl.

Is there anything you can say?

"We.. are... here!"

It takes the redhead a second to realize she meant they've made it to the upstairs door. Sighing loudly he decides to stop asking questions. Clearly, the girl wasn't going to answer any of them.

He takes a deep breath and turns the doorknob, surprisedly it was open, the guards weren't exactly worried about the girl ever escaping.

He slowly opens the door and creeks an eye out, before entering the room. Not seeing anyone, Klaus fully opens the door and pulls the girl along with him. She doesn't protest and follows him out into a narrow hallway.

Making sure not to make any noise they walk in silence, with very light steps.

(This isn't so hard, at this rate we might even get out of here unnoticed.)

However, as if the universe watered to spite him, the moment they turn the last corner on their way to the front gate, a bold, tall, muscular, very mean-looking guy spots them.

(Dear God!)

Sensing their fear, the man smiles viscously and cracks his knuckles with gusto.

"Wouldn't you know it? A brat trying to save a 'Witch! You know this is treason against the Catholic Church, and any treason committed against us is punishable by death.

Klaus doesn't react to the obvious provocation.

They stand in a silent deadlock until finally, the man launches himself at them.

Klaus reacts quickly, he pushes the girl out the way, making her hit the wall hard in the process.

The man tries to grab him, but he escapes by a hair's breadth.

"Ho-ho you're a slippery one, aren't you? "This is going to be fun!"

Right when the boy thinks he's out of immediate danger, the man pulls him by his long red hair.

"AHHHHH"

"Yes, scream I love when they scream." it makes it all the more existing."

"Let go of me, YOU HEATHEN BASTARD."

However, the man doesn't let go instead, he palls harder until he has the boy right in front of him. He then proceeds to force him to face his way.

Finally face to face the man grabs the boy by the throat while forcing him to his knees and with his free hand pulls out a long knife.

"I'm going to enjoy disfiguring your pretty little face. Then I'm going to torture you until you can't even speak, just like I did with the Witch!"

Klaus's pulse quickens as the blade closes, to his face. He thinks of ways to fight off the stronger man but can't seem to figure out a way to go about it. Finally, he does the only possible thing he can muster at the moment.

Biting down hard on the man's right arm, the fiery redhead finally frees himself.

"FUCKING LITTLE BASTARD, YOU BIT ME!!"

The man dops the knife on the floor next to him. Klaus tries to reach for it but once again, gets caught by the brute.

"LET ME GO!! LET ME GO"!!

The man gives him a death glere.

"I'm going to show you what real pain feels like you detestable brat!"

He jumps on top of the boy binding him completely, he reaches for his blade, however, it's no longer where he dropped it. Suddenly he feels something cold on his neck then, pain finally, blood starts to gush out.

In a panic, the man covers his wound, trying to stop the bleeding, but in mere seconds he's at death's door.

"This... Can't...be--"

Covered in blood Kaus punches the heavy man off of him, then stares in shock at the expressionless girl standing over him, holding a bloody knife.

"I-.. I.. T-thank you."

The girl nods and gives him a hand up. "Freya...

'What? That's my name, Freya."

The now bloody boy holds her gaze and with a sincere smile replies. "Thank you for saving me, Freya."

She cleans the blade with her clothes and smiles at him, the first since they've met.

"We are now even, she says matter of faculty. Where should we go now?" He smiles back and responds.

"To the east gate by the forest. There is someone there who will help us."

Not being one to talk much she nods and they make it out of the Church safely through the front door into the cold street, but not before Klause gave the man a quick prayer and send him on his way to the lord to be judged for his sins.

"In nominee Patris et Filii et Spirit us Sancti, Amen. May your sins be forgiven and your soul finds safe passage to Paradise."

Freya looks at him in confusion but doesn't say a word.

Finally, out they stumble across 3 unconscious men. Freya looks at them and with her stoic face ask's, Klaus. "Did you do this?"

"No, it was definitely not me! "Any guess as to whom it could've been?

"There is only one person I can think of,(why help me, though?)

She nods and doesn't ask any furder questions. They hurry past the men and Klause leads her to the rendezvous point.

It doesn't take them long to get from the Church to the east gate. Waiting for them, sitting on a wooden chair next to two unconscious guards is Gideon with 'Erik standing by his side.

"Please tell me all that blood isn't yours."

"It is not, but more importantly, how in the world did you convince my brother to escape with us? "I didn't!

"But--. "He's under a spell, right now he's but a mindless puppet."

WHAT? You--. Yes yes, I used magic on him, anyway are you alright?

"I think so. What about you (he looks at Freya.) "You don't look very well." Did they torture you again?

....Silence...

"Don't mind her she doesn't take well to strangers. But she's fine, we both are.

"I see... Very well let's get going then." You can explain the whole blood thing later."

Not seeing any horses, Klaus asks, "How are we getting there?"

Gideon looks at him and smirks.

"NO, NO, NO. There's no way in hell am I going through that again, forget it!"

"Is either that or staying here, like always the choice is yours? "Is there really no other way?" Understanding his pain Gideon replies. "I'm afraid not." I'm sorry.

Freya listens to the weird conversation between the two, about spells and magic and can't help but think they're either talking in code or simply crazy lunatics.

Gideon walks them to the forest and tells them to for me they a circle. Klaus turns to Freya and says. "Hold your breath and don't let go of my hand."

She doesn't understand what they're about to do, nonetheless, she smiles at him and nods her head. Whatever it was, Klaus had clearly already experienced it before, so she puts her trust in him, does as he says.

Gideon nods and gives one last look at the city.

(Goodbye Ondens, until we meet again.. )

Once again they all shrink into four different balls of pure light and apparate away.
