Just Yold

"Friday wake up"

Nope his dead. This juicy crime scene mysteries shall me mine for the picking, when I come back.

Today it's just me Yold so I can internally monologue all I want. I want to find a job not really for money but to get use to talking with people and expand my intimate circle, according to Friday. So all those here for some Friday shenanigans should probably skip this chapter. This feels weird I'm going to stop.

I've been scouting for work for a while and I've already picked a place to work. It was a no-brainer where I'll go. Friday takes me to this coffee place every now and then when his tired of regular coffee. He could make it himself but won't, in the count of him being lazy but then he has really good work ethics. Friday is a really complicated person, you could say his what humans were meant to be instead of whatever we are right now.

Yold left the front door and was greeted by the glare of the morning sun that was slowly sticking it's head out. Since it was still 6 am in the morning part of town was a bit darker than the rest. Yold popped in his ear pod with his favorite song blasting in half volume. He is a firm believer that the volume changes the song. If you find that perfect volume level a song can sound even better.

He took a step forward and started his adventure since he couldn't drive. He didn't mind much, he loved the travel. He just doesn't like how award winning actress Gloria Huff looks when her billboard is hit by the morning sun. A lot of shadows and one scary woman. Yold averted his eyes until he got past the billboard. He took a bus at the end of the block outside the gate. The bus that went deeper into the city of Next Haven. The street was a bit lonely and so was the bus and that might be attributed by the fact that Yold lives in a rich neighborhood. They aren't much that use the bus, just mainly old people and kids. He stopped at the nearest bus stop to where was going. From here he'll have to walk and walk and walk... Nope Yold was just pacing around the coffee shop. He was trying to gain the moral to step inside. After a bit of huffing and puffing he opened the door to... the barbershop?

"Hey hey if it isn't one half of my favorite customers"

"Oh hey Rick"

"What got you down Yold? sit on the chair"

Rick gestured Yold to sit on his Barber's chair.

"Hah"

Yold sat down on the chair and let out a sigh. Rick was a barber Friday and Yold frequent. Rick put a cap on the clipper blade, turned it on and put it on Yold's head. It was a therapeutic technique Rick found for Yold.

"I was looking to get a job at the cafe but I ended walking in here"

Rick pointed outside

"The cafe right next to my shop? I thought you knew those guys?"

"Yeah but it's where I get coffee but now I want to get a job. It feels a bit weird"

"I see, I see . I saw Vicky"

"Yikes"

Yold expressed his shock and condolence in one word.

"Yeah, she burst in here saying that it's about time Friday got his haircut and asked me where he was. What did Friday do to make that girl so crazy?"

"I don't really know..."

Yold thought for a while.

"She's always been like that towards Friday"

"Good on him I guess. Hmm your hair is a bit shaggy"

Rick ran his fingers through Yold's hair.

"Maybe I can give you a haircut before you go for your big job interview"

"That would be great, thanks Rick"

The master began his work. Removing unnecessary hair and shortening long ones. Rick wasn't going on a whim. Yold's hair had a pattern, short around the sides and long at the top. His been going with this hair style since it was popular in college. He can't change since he doesn't know better.

"Maybe just give me a low cut"

Rick almost slipped.

"A low cut? that's a waste of luscious hair. Are you going into the Marines?"

"Hehehe, no. It just feels too much. I want something that's me"

Rick looked at Yold from the reflection on the mirror. How could he say no to such a sincere customer.

"okay then"

Rick cut everything in equilibrium. In other to cancel out simplicity, he carved out a perfect shape for Yold's hair. The sharpest cut you've ever seen.

After an hour or so, the new Yold was ready for his interview.
