Squirming Rat

As I walked down route one, which was an open field sparsely filled with trees and bushes.

There has been Pidgey and Spearow fly past as some tried to come near me, but my quick running let me escape, although I would love to battle them, maybe having an aerial battle as my first battle with a pokemon that is exclusively on the ground.

I would love to find a Rattata or Oddish but I couldn't find anything, I don't know if IV and EV exist in this life, as they are fan terms, IV would equate to genetics, like some humans are more naturally gifted than others, like how ash's Pikachu is better than every other Pikachu.

The argument for EV would be ash's Charizard and Greninja, when Charizard was left at the Valley in Johto it was much smaller than every other Charizard there, but when ash gets him back, he is either equal or larger than the others, a comparison could be made to Alain's Charizard and Trevor's Charizard, it could be seen that they were the same size, but Alain's was thicker more fit for physical attacks and taking attacks and Trevors was slimmed down more fit for speed and range attacks.

Greninja now as a Froakie spent his time in the training alone or against other Froakie, I know Froakie grants speed EV, and as Froakie was traveling with Ash, when they met the ninja with the Frogadier, after the training, Froakie was comparable to Frogadier in speed, one could say it was always that fast but was trained to better use that speed.

So IVs and Evs could exist but are so obscure that no one really cares, except for that really hardcore people that no one likes or cares for, like Paul or AJ.

I stared at the purple rat in front of me, I laid out an Oran berry on the ground as I watched from the tree a few meters away from it, after a couple of minutes, a Rattata showed up, prodding around the berry until Rattata went to take the bite.

I then jumped out and here I am, Charmander's Pokeball enlarged in my hand as I let him out, without throwing the ball, of course, I wouldn't want to lose Charmander's Pokeball.

"Char!" Charmander let out a cry as its tail started to blaze more brightly, it looked towards me as I pointed towards the Rattata, Charmander nodded before focusing on it.

Rattata looked at us with slight annoyance and turned around to run, seeing I was about to let out an order, but then I realized that I didn't check Charmander's moves, so I called out a move that all Charmander's must know.

"Charmander, use Growl!"

Charmander let out an aggressive cry as Rattata shivered in place as its legs froze for a second, "Now, Charmander, use scratch till it faints."

Charmander ran towards Rattata with its claws slightly glowing a white color as it slashed towards Rattata who recovered from the growl and slammed into Charmander with the full force of its body.

Charmander recovered from the attack before going on the offensive with a scratch, but Rattata was enveloped in a white shine before almost disappearing from view and slamming into Charmander again, but before getting off him, Rattata bit into Charmander's neck.

Seeing this, I started to sweat a little bit, "Charmander, use ember point-blank."

It was a gamble, I knew it, there was a slim chance Charmander even knew how to use ember, and I was just talking out of my ass, but Charmander isn't in the position to use growl or scratch, ember is the only choice.

Charmander inhaled quite deeply before pushing Rattata off and lunging at it, holding it to the ground.

Charmander opened his mouth as sparks of flames appeared before the flames took the form of projectiles and charred Rattata, leaving it so chance to retaliate.

Rattata kept scrambling around, but if Charmander lets go, Rattata would just attack again, "Charmander keep a hold and repeatedly use ember!"

I had to shout as they were quite a ways away from me at this point but nonetheless, Charmander still heard and fire ember after ember until Rattata completely lost consciousness.

Charmander got off of Rattata leaving it on the ground, Charmander stood still for a moment before it started jumping towards me, I could see the giant grin on its face.

As I almost yelled out in excitement, I had quite a big smile on my face.
