Chapter 22: The Bakery Incident

---------- At the Bakery, The Next Day

Samantha had left for work a bit later than she had anticipated that day. Holly had taken longer to leave her apartment than she thought it would, as the two women had held each other in a death-grip-like hug. Holly thanked Samantha for all she had done for her.

It had put Samantha in a good mood for the day, and she doubted there was anything that would happen that could dampen it.

That was, until she saw Christopher already sitting at one of the booths in the bakery.

Now, she did not think Christopher was a bad guy, but, over the course of the few days she had known him, she had noticed an almost obsessive behavior beginning to develop.

Whenever Samantha was working at the counter, he made sure to sit as close to the register as he could. This normally would not be a problem for her if not for the fact that he would constantly ask her questions and distract her from work.
