With the walls of this old building
There's words and people that are filling
The space and history of paces
That's ready, sound and used for races
With written records stacked up to ceiling
And the old ladder helps with filing
The traces of memory held to me dear
And withering down, as it had touch of fear
We've sat next to each other
As reading and learning was greatly in need
Both pushed to be greater by fathers
Both ignored run to tatters by heed
Then we sought our solace by drowning in books
By playing out little bits from those looks
And the way you had stayed nearby silently
Gave me craving, by day growing violently
We had been ever close, ever dear
But as time passed - you've made it quite clear
That the shared closeness mustered
Was myself being flustered
I had treasured the bookmark
You have passed to me once
With these blue little flowers
And those little remarks
"Forget-me-not, my dear darling"
It had read on the thing
It was final regarding
After passing the king
Such betrayal was painful
Mercy drowned in the pain
You had carried a handful
With my heart as a ring
