Hudson's Brother

"How did this happen to me?" I last remember being in New York, and then I know nothing." Hudson talked in a daze. Dr. Fae described what had occurred to Hudson, and I am still in disbelief over what had transpired and how I removed the poison.

"Why did you call so urgently? I had a meeting..." Dean's words ceased as he glanced at Hudson, who was awake, and Dean gazed at Dr. Fae for clarification, which he did and explained what he saw.

"What healing magic did you use, Aria?" Dean Mark enquired.

"I don't know. I saw a mark on Hudson's neck and touched it, which triggered the magic." Hudson stroked his hand over the side of his neck unconsciously. "Did you notify my parents about this, Dean?" After he posed the question, I stared at the Dean and then at Hudson while I waited for the Dean to respond. "No, I haven't informed them about you." Hudson let out a relieved sigh.

"Thank you, Dean. I know lying must have been problematic for you." Dean gave Hudson a frown. So Hudson asked Dean to lie, but when and why did he do so?

"Colton and Xavier haven't shown up yet," Hudson inquired.

"Colton is still in the wolf world; he'll be here today, and I'll summon Xavier," Dean stated while simultaneously signaling Dr. Fae, the nurse, and me to leave.

"You are welcome to stay, Aria." Hudson's voice stopped my movements, and when I turned to see Dean Mark to see if he was comfortable with what was happening, he didn't show any emotion, so I could understand him.

"Your brother Niall wants to join the Academy, and your parents have also requested that he join," Dean Mark remarked, making Hudson's cheeks quiver with a grimace.

"Shit, they want Niall in the Academy sooner than I expected." Hudson snarled.

"I don't see why there is an issue," I mumbled, perplexed. Hudson and the Dean turned their attention to me as they realized my presence.

"My parents assist my tyrant brother to gain control of the kingdom over their first heir, and the kingdom will be destroyed if Niall holds the kingdom's powers." When Hudson opened up about his issues, I got to know him better as a buddy rather than just another colleague. "Hmmm, Dean, are you bringing Niall to the Academy?" I asked.

"Dean can't do anything because he has to agree since Niall is superb at combat abilities." Hudson scowled. Dean just nodded. "Also, do you have any updates about Dan missing Dean?" He groaned at my inquiry and informed me with disappointed shoulders he found nothing.

"Aria…. Could you please look after Hudson for me? I have a meeting with the Human Government." I nodded, and Dean exited the room, leaving Hudson with ocean-blue eyes staring at me. "How did you find the mission?" I inquired, taking a seat next to Hudson, whose attention made me flush slightly. "Everything went smoothly, and Maggie is a fighter," Hudson muttered solemnly as he lay on the bed and looked up at the ceiling. "I contacted Maggie about your condition; she will come to visit you since she was so unhappy and guilt-ridden that she couldn't stop the attack." Hudson turned to face me. "I'm not sure why she's blaming herself for this; she did well." He said.

"Please inform her of this; she will be relieved and not sulk too much." I exhaled a sigh.

"Do you like Maggie?" It surprised me when Hudson inquired why so many people were curious about my current romantic status. "NO! She's only a buddy to me." I caught his eye, and his head nodded.

Hudson struggled to get out of bed and lost his balance, and before he fell to the ground, I tried to hold him to regain his footing back, but Hudson's massive frame weighed me down on the floor with him, and he was on top of me. His blue ocean peered at me with a dazed expression, and the sight of Hudson being so near to me made my heart race.

"I'm glad to hear you're alright, friend." My ears perked up as I heard Xavier's words, and I turned to face the footsteps to see Xavier's cheerful face slump as he glanced directly at Hudson and me. Xavier seemed to be enraged and envious at the moment.

Xavier questioned. "What are you two doing?" Then, looking at Xavier precisely as I did, Hudson turned to face me. "Are you hurt?" Hudson inquired as he rose from the ground and offered his hand to assist me.

"I'm all right." As I dusted myself, I mumbled. "Xavier was with your expression and jealous attitude," Hudson said calmly, while Xavier maintained the same look. When Xavier's eyes met mine, I averted them because I felt uncomfortable after we make-out. Hudson shifted his gaze between Him and me. "What the Fuck, Aria? You didn't tell me you were dating Xavier." Maggie arrived. Her face brightened as she learned about Hudson Health's plight through my text message. Hudson ocean blue gazed at us, then at Xavier, with displeasure.

"What's up with this jealousy vibe?" Maggie questioned, and I glowered within as three people turned in my direction.

"I am not Xavier's girlfriend, and stop gazing at me," I yelled at Xavier to speak up, and he got it. "Maggie, I proclaimed Aria as my girlfriend to get rid of other Fangirls and Exes off my back, and I still feel sorry to do it. Even when Aria said she is not willing to play a role."

"I'm back, Team," Colton spoke as he approached the infirmary.

"How are you feeling, Colton?" I inquired, and he grinned. "Physical, I am OK mentally, yet I cannot say anything. The only nice thing about my arrival here is that I didn't notice any ladies blocking my path." He exhaled a sigh. I nodded since he should know that the Academy students already see him as a dictator.

"Hudson, I heard about what occurred, and I'm glad you're doing well." Hudson gave him a friendly nod of his head. "Well, Hudson, if you're feeling well, please join us for a brief meeting. Dean has phoned to say he needs to talk with us now."

"I'm OK, and I'll be there soon," said Hudson. The Hex group and our crew entered the room shortly afterward. In Dean's office, I was apprehensive about seeing Eva's crew. "Team Hex and Phoenix, pay attention. The human government sent us the location of the alien inhabitants, and your team assisted them and sent the information to them." Dean stated.

"And so is this joint mission with Team Hex." Colton inquired." Yes, since the number of Alien Habitants is significant, and I feel one squad cannot manage this alone, I brought in Hex Team." Colton nodded solemnly.

"Captain Colton and Bryce, you will have the location gadget provided." Dean and her assistant showed up with the magic gadgets, which they presented to Colton and Bryce. I saw Bryce look at him lustfully and glare at him. Xavier's hand protectively comes to my shoulder. I see Bryce's eyes flicker with displeasure as he glares at Xavier. I notice Eva's eyes are flaming with jealousy while Colton and Hudson gaze at us soberly, and Maggie grins and winks.

"Team, please let us go; we need to talk about something before we depart," Colton muttered as we all walked away, and Xavier let his hand go off me. And our team headed to our conference room, and before his eyes met mine, he showed up to inquire. "Before you ask, I inform everyone about my relationship status: I am not dating Xavier, I don't do serious relationships, I don't have flings with my teammates, I am straight, and I despise dating matters." I sat on the chair while others looked at me as if I were insane, which I was.

Colton cleared his throat. "I wasn't asking you about that, but I would want to ask you to assist me with finding Dan when you have time." The surrounding people stare at Colton, so I know my lips open at his command. "I'm sorry I misread you, since everyone asks me the same questions, and I have to repeat. It irritates me." I offered an embarrassed grin. "Oh, and of course, I'd want to join, plus I enjoy working with Loki." With a grateful grin, he nodded.

"Let's get down to the business team," Colton said.

"I'm already irritated to learn about the new assignment to work with Hex." Maggie snarled. Hudson said, "Second."

"Aria, I know you're tough, but the Bastad captain of Hex is a jerk; he was staring at you, and I'm not sure how we can hit him much harder." Maggie sat in her seat, refusing to let Colton begin the meeting.

"Don't worry; I'll exact my vengeance on that guy who believed he could get away with it." Four of them looked at me in shock because of my dark remark, but they shook them ahead in agreement.
