CHAPTER THIRTY ONE: I WANT TO BE YOUR PROTECTOR

" Iam really happy for you.." Alia said as we sat down for some drinks," I know.." I replied as I stared back at her," What about you...it's been a while since you told me anything going on in you." I said as she smiled," Well...that's because nothing special has been going on in my life..I still haven't done anything worth talking about..my love life sucks..wait do I even have a love life?" she replied as forced a laughter.." Iam not sure what's happening in my life anymore..my dad keeps pressurising me about my career choice and iam starting to feel like he has a point...iam really not going to become an actress any time soon..so maybe I should give up." she added as I noticed tears in her eyes..Alia is the most outgoing person I know..but she also has that one thing she does where she hides her pain and wears a smile and iam not sure I like that about her," Come here.." I said as I pulled her in for a hug," Now listen up..as much as I love telling you and sharing everything going on with my life with you..I'd really appreciate it if you did the same..that way I can also be happy or sad with you...it doesn't have to always be one sided." I said as she held me tightly.." Iam sorry.." she replied," You don't have to be silly..." I said as I comforted her..she wasn't having it easy and I knew it..and as a friend all I could do was to comfort her.

" I understand that we both were having a heart to heart but do we also have to sleep together.." I asked as Alia came and hugged me tightly..." well it's been a while..." she replied as I smiled and hugged her back..." Good night." I said as she replied and went to sleep.

" I really miss you..." Jiang Hao said over the video call we were having, it had been a week since we last saw each other because he had to wrap up with his shoots and ads..in time for the booting ceremony and the filming for his new movie," I miss you more.." I replied as I found somewhere to sit," But don't worry..we can make up for all the time we lost when you come back.." I whispered to him as he laughed," Well now you got me something to think about..for the next few days before I come back." he replied..." Every thing is settled!!" said some one from his background," I think you should get back to work.." I said," Let's talk later.." he replied as he hang up...

" Look at you sulking...he is only gone to shoot some ads and you feeling this low..how about when he goes to shoot that movie or series..it will take two entire months of not seeing him.." Alia said as she poured her self a glass of juice.." I can always visit him when need be.." I replied," But you are right..I've never been in a long distance relationship before...so iam sort of scared." I replied as she sat by my side," The key is to have faith in your partner and you should also quit the overthinking it only makes everything worse.." she replied.." Now come on..stop sulking.. remember you promised to go to that party with me.." she said as I recalled all the things I promised her yesterday just to make her feel better," Did I promise you anything?" I said sarcastically as she glared at me," You better not take your words back...but trust me you need this too..we need this it's been a while since we last hang out together...please." she pleaded as I gave in to her pouting and cuteness.." Okay..I'll go and get ready." I said as she cheered happily.

" It really has been a while since I had last been to these.." I said as we walked into the club..." Yah...the last time you were here..you won yourself a husband..let's see what fate has in store for you this time.." Alia replied as we both laughed," Well iam not looking for a husband this time..I already have one remember.." I said as I showed off my ring to her," Well....." he said as I realised she was about to pull out the fake marriage card," Fine...fine.." I replied as we proceeded to where we were going.

The party was lively though I kind of felt alone since most people at it were Alias friends and not mine so I just found my self some where to sit," Are you sure you don't want to dance?" Alia asked as I politely declined," Iam not in the mood..but you can dance.." I said as she went back a ND joined the rest, I heard my phone buzz and realised it was a phone call from Jiang Hao so I moved outside to find somewhere quiet I could pick it from..

" Hello.." I said," Where are you and why is it noisy..?" he asked," Iam at a club..we had to attend a friend's party.." I replied," Ohh I'll let you have fun then..take care of yourself.." he said as he hang up," It's okay we can still talk.." I said but he had already hang up..I turned and moved right back in.

After having some drinks, I left for use the washroom..." What happened to me...I didn't even lift a finger to dance ..." I said to myself as I washed my face and fixed my make up...on my way out, I found a man who seemed to be forcing him self on a girl.." I think she said no.." I said in a loud and domineering voice," So let her go.." I added as the man glared at me.." Can you just mind your own business..." he replied as he grabbed the girls arm.." Let me go.." she screamed as I intervened and pulled her away from him," Ahhh...I hate your types the most.." he said as he pulled out a knife.." Put that down.." I said as we stepped back with the girl.." Iam going to call the police.." I added as he kept way our way..." I told you to mind your business but you just couldn't listen..he said as he raised the knife to us...I was scared so I closed my eyes...which I later opened when I realised that I felt no pain so the knife definitely had not reached me..I stared back at the girl I was helping and then my eyes fell to the man Infront of both of us..who turned around and ..." Jiang Hao!" I exclaimed," What are you doing here?" I asked as my eyes felt at his hand which was bleeding," Your arm.." I said as he smiled at me.." I remember telling you to take good care of your self.." he said as I stared at him with worry.

" You can sign right here then.." the police officer said as Jiang Hao signed," Thank you for your cooperation.." the officer added as we stood up to leave.." Are you sure you are okay?" I asked as he smiled at me," Iam fine..it's not a deep injury." he replied as we got into the car," How are you feeling?" Eric asked," Iam okay..it's nothing serious.." he replied as I glared at him," It could have been serious..why did you jump in the way of the knife like that?" I asked," I didn't just jump in..I made my calculations first..." he replied," Iam okay..." he added as he pulled me in for a hug..." What's wrong with you...peeping at is from the rear view?" Jiang Hao said to Eric who seemed to be affected by our PDA," It's not that.." he replied as we all laughed.

" Iam okay..you don't have to worry.." I said over the phone with Alia.." Did you get home safely..?" I asked her as she replied," Iam really sorry I wasn't there..." she added as I assured that it was okay.." I'll let you rest then.." she added as I hang up..." What are you doing here..?" Jiang Hao asked as he hugged me from behind," I was making a call..." I said as I turned to his arm.." Are you sure it's alright?" K asked as he smiled," It really is not serious..look I can move my arm..I can even press on it..you don't need to be worried about me." he replied..." Speaking of which..I thought you still had a few more days there..why did you come back earlier?" I asked," Well....I finished up my work and came back.." he said," I wanted to suprise you.." he added as he caressed my neck..." Do you like your suprise?" he asked as I smiled," I love it.." I replied as he leaned in and kissed me.
